Breaking News: Be’er Sheva Terror Attack at Bus Station Leaves 1 Dead; Six Injured

Be’er Sheva (TPS) – Six Israelis were injured and one killed during a suspected terrorist attack by two Arab terrorists today at the Be’er Sheva central bus station on Sunday night, October 18.

ber sheva 1According to Israeli police spokesperson, in a suspected terror attack that took place before 8:00 PM, two Arab terrorists entered the central bus station in the southern city of Be’er Sheva and began shooting and stabbing bystanders. The attackers were armed with both a pistol and rifle as well as blades according to initial reports and opened fire in two different points in the terminal.

Policemen at the scene have reported that they managed to neutralize both assailants, one of whom was killed during the shootout.

A Magen David Adom (MDA) spokesperson has confirmed that paramedics have treated six injured individuals on the scene, including one of the attackers.

 

The surviving attacker has been evacuated along with the other victims to the Soroka hospital in Be’er Sheva. According to a Soroka hospital spokesperson, one victim arrived in critical condition and was later pronounced dead.

Two other victims have sustained severe injuries and are currently undergoing surgery. Four others have sustained moderate to light injuries.

Police forces are scouring the area for potential additional attackers.

 

Be’er Sheva native, Eli Ben-Dahan, who is Israel’s Deputy Defense Minister has stated to the press that “the international community has a duty to fight against and stop the phenomenon of sedition and encouragement of terrorism by the heads of the Palestinian Authority.”

 

“Unfortunatly, the terrorists aren’t stopping and we are only witnessing an escalation from knifing to mass shootings,” said Ben-Dahan.
