Harkham Hillel Hebrew Academy holds Annual Trustee Event at Historic Greystone Estate with Award-Winning “Top Chef” Contestants Chef Katsuji and Chef Keriann Von Raesfeld-Harrigan
Wednesday, June 3, Beverly Hills CA: Harkham Hillel Hebrew Academy Trustees committed to investing upwards of half a million dollars in Hillel’s vision for the future, which includes 21st Century Learning Spaces, S.T.E.M. Education, and the development of a cutting-edge Torah SheBal Peh curriculum.
Everyone enjoyed an evening of old-Hollywood-inspired glamor with fabulous cuisine and dessert served at sunset, overlooking the LA skyline, featuring “Top Chef” winning contestants Chef Katzuji and Chef Keriann Von Raesfeld-Harrigan. The evening was enhanced with entertainment by Avi Ciment – famed entertain who has performed at Miami Beach’s Fountainbleau Hotel and featured headliner at HBO Soprano’s Premier. A stellar troupe of Magic Castle magicians were also part of the evening’s entertainment.
It was an all around magical night as Hillel’s Board President, Harry Nelson, shared the following sentiments: “It’s all about the children! Rabbi Sufrin, the Board of Directors, and our Trustees recognize the value of investing in the future – and the funds raised tonight are a testament to that vision!”
Rabbi Sufrin, Hillel’s Head of School, opened the evening by highlighting, “Our children are the flames that light our world. Together we create the wick that will allow each flame to draw deeply from the rich reservoir of positive and intrinsic Judaism in becoming a Shalhevet She’Olah Me’eileha – a flame empowered to rise on it’s own; striving ever-upward towards new heights.”
