An Israeli-developed machine that makes clean drinking water out of air was included in TIME Magazine’s list in 2019 of the top 100 inventions.

Watergen’s machine collects humidity from the air and heats it to create water by cooling the air and creating dew. The liquid is then filtered and purified with carbon.

“Whether you’re in a developing country or on the scene of a natural disaster, water is usually the No.?1 need in times of crisis. Watergen, an Israeli company, thinks GENNY could be the answer,” TIMW Magazine wrote.

Watergen has been active in making its technology available to many developing countries including India, China, The Philippines, Vietnam, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Uzbekistan, Costa Rica and Chile.

The company’s objective of making clean water available to all parts of the globe with its water generators has earned it a place on the World Economic Forum’s list of the world’s top technology pioneers in 2018.

Several humanitarian organizations have shown interest in Watergen’s solution to help other communities that lack access to clean water.

Watergen’s technology has also been used on several occasions in areas in the US after being hit by hurricanes and other natural disasters.
