 Once again,  BTM is now entering our third year of partnering with Ort College. BTM is offering a special opportunity to take a course in accounting in a frum environment, men only, catered to either a Yeshiva schedule or those working part time.

New students are presently enrolling in this innovative program for the coming semester.

The hours are from 3pm-6:30pm, Monday through Thursday. Location is at LA Ort College on Wilshire Blvd.

The Accounting program prepares students for entry level roles in business accounting settings and financial services industries.

OBJECTIVE

Emphasis is on accounting principles, financial statements and use of common business software applications. The curriculum includes courses in service and merchandise accounting, payroll accounting, as well as budgeting and financial reporting analysis, such as Income Statement, Statement of Owner’s Equity, and Balance Sheet. In the program, students gain a grasp of business applications with hands­ on experience using Windows,

Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) and Intuit QuickBooks Accounting.

 

OPPORTUNITIES

There is a high demand for trained personnel who can apply their computer skills to accomplish essential business tasks in positions such as: accounting clerk, bookkeeper, data processing clerk, and payroll clerk.

In addition, there is a strong demand for trained computer accounting assistants by corporations and temporary service agencies. Graduates are qualified to secure jobs in industries such as bank­ing, insurance and real estate, as well as address the bookkeeping responsibilities in any company.

ORT College designed the program specifically tailored to the skill demands of real companies who hire many of their students, and they boast a 90% job placement rate in lower and upper level management.

A GED class is also in formation, as well as an option to learn Shchita from an experienced certified Shochet! Hours are 6:45–8:15.  Call for more details.
