Lebanon-based terrorists on Sunday fired several anti-tank rockets into Israel, near the community of Avivim.

The IDF stated that the rockets struck several targets, including a base and vehicles.

Hezbollah announced that it has destroyed an IDF vehicle that was in movement along the border. It described the attack as “a planned and quality” strike.

The terror organization further said that the “Hasan Zbeeb and Yasser Daher’s Brigade” carried out the attack. Zbeeb and Daher were killed during an IAF strike on an Iranian terror target in Syria last Saturday.

Residents in the area reported that rockets or mortars were fired at the area as well, and that they hear heavy exchanges of fire across the border.

The IDF has issued directives for residents near the border to stay indoors and prepare their shelters, pending a further escalation.

Lebanese sources report that the IDF has responded with artillery fire on several locations near the border, including on the of Marun a-Ras.

The attack occurred while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was meeting with Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez.

The Hezbollah terror organization has threatened to attack Israel after the IDF allegedly attacked Hezbollah targets in the heart of Beirut with drones last Saturday night. Their target was reportedly unique equipment needed for Hezbollah’s program to upgrade its missile arsenal to accurate projectiles.
