After Executive Director Dr. Gil Graff addressed the students about the importance of “giving thanks,” Or HaChaim Academy Principal Deborah Raskin was surprised when Milken Family Foundation Executive Vice President Richard Sandler asked her to read the name of the $15,000 Jewish Educator Award recipient from her school…and the name was her own. Inspired by a teacher she once had, Mrs. Raskin said: “At the end of time, I can really say: I’ve impacted, I’ve made a difference and I love what I do.”
