The terrorist accused of a multi-hour anti-Semitic crime spree in Lakewood and Jackson, NJ this past Erev Shabbos into Shabbos, allegedly told his family, “It’s going to be a blood bath” and called Jews “the real devils,” according to police documents obtained by NJ Advance Media.

The terrorist, 27-year-old Dion Marsh, has been charged with multiple offenses, including attempted murder and bias intimidation for the Friday violence that included stabbing a carjacking, stabbing a Lakewood bochur in the chest, and hitting pedestrians with a car in Lakewood and Jackson.

NJ.com reports that documents released Tuesday detailed how Ocean County investigators said they tracked Marsh, of Manchester, and how a tip to a Lakewood police officer helped detectives identify the accused assailant the same day of the attacks. NJ.com reports that a break in the investigation came when an anonymous citizen contacted a Lakewood police officer to say that they recognized the suspect from security video of the carjacking.

When Manchester police arrived at Marsh’s home, they found him lying on a bed holding “what appeared to be a machete on his chest” at around 10:45 p.m. Friday night.

Marsh’s anti-Semitic comments came during a recorded interview with detectives. He admitted to all the crimes he committed, and he said that the reason he did it was because “it had to be done,” because “these are the real devils,” and when asked to whom he was referring, he said “the Hasidic Jews.”

Marsh began his shocking spree on Friday, at approximately 1:15 p.m., when he approached a 2016 Toyota Camry, assaulted the driver, and fled the area in the vehicle. He had approached the driver, a yungerman who was sitting in his idle car, requesting a ride. When the driver demurred, Marsh attacked him, punching the driver repeatedly.

The driver, attempting to get away from Marsh, exited his vehicle, at which point Marsh moved in, jumped into the car, and, with keys in the ignition, drove off, leaving the driver dumbstruck. Hatzolah arrived at the scene and treated the driver, while police were contacted and launched a search for Marsh and the vehicle.

At approximately 6:00 p.m., Lakewood Township Police received a report of a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle in the area of Central Avenue and Carlton Avenue. Responding officers discovered that a male victim had been struck by a dark colored vehicle. Marsh tried to abduct the victim who got away.

At approximately 6:55 p.m., Lakewood Township Police Officers responded to a 911 call in reference to a stabbing in the vicinity of Pine Circle Drive and Central Avenue/Lakewood New Egypt Road. The officers discovered a male victim with a stab wound to his chest.

At approximately 8:20 p.m., officers from the Jackson Township Police Department responded to a 911 call for a report of a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle in the area of Galassi Court. Responding officers were able to determine that the male victim had been struck by the same vehicle that was taken in the carjacking incident in Lakewood earlier in the day.

An investigation conducted by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit and Lakewood Township Police Department revealed that Marsh was responsible for all of these attacks.
