Written by Michael Bachner/TPS on November 23, 2015

Shortly after 3:00 PM, a stabbing terrorist attack took place at a gas station near the community of Beit Horon, on route 443 which connects Jerusalem with Modi’in.

A young man of around 18 years old was critically wounded in the attack and was resuscitated by Magen Divid Adom paramedics, but they eventually pronounced his death.

MDA paramedic Uri Gavriel said: “At the entrance to the gas station laid a young man, around 20 years old, unconscious and with stab wounds in his upper body. He wasn’t breathing and did not have a pulse. We gave him medical treatment and continuously resuscitated him, but the wounds were severe and we were forced to pronounce his death at the scene.”

A young woman was lightly to moderately wounded in her limbs, and was evacuated to Shaare Tzedek hospital in Jerusalem.

Another medic at the scene, Isaac Goldfarb, said: “A young woman sustained stab wounds to her upper limbs. We gave her medical treatment to stop the bleeding and dress her wounds, and evacuated her to hospital in light to moderate condition.”

The terrorist, identified as Ahmed Taha, was shot and killed at the scene by IDF forces.

A passing car was also hit by gunfire during the incident, however, there were no reported injuries. Following the attack, route 443 was closed in both directions. It reopened an hour later.

Shortly before the incident, another attempted stabbing attack occurred in Samaria, in a junction on route 60 near the city of Nablus.

In this case the attack was prevented, and the knife-wielding attacker was neutralized and killed.
