Jerusalem, 20 September, 2022 (TPS) — Former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had harsh words for the Booking.com travel application which will soon begin marking Jewish-owned accommodations in Judea and Samaria with a travel warning, apparently promoting a boycott of Israeli businesses.

Booking will warn travelers against visiting Jewish-owned businesses in Judea and Samaria and mark it as a place of “increased risk”.

In response, Netanyahu suggested that Booking study the Bible and said that “Booking should be ashamed of its ignorance and hypocrisy. Judea and Samaria is the heart of our homeland, the heart of all of us.”

To the Israeli residents, he said “you are in my heart, you are the activists who fight against this hypocrisy, kudos to you.”

Booking claimed that its “mission is to make it easier for everyone to experience the world. In accordance with this mission, we try to ensure that our customers have information in order to make decisions about destinations they are considering traveling to. Certain areas of the world affected by conflict may pose a greater risk to travelers, so we provide our customers with information to help make decisions and encourage them to check their government’s official travel guidelines as part of the decision-making process.”

However, Arab accommodations in the same area are not marked.
