YERUSHALAYIM — On Wednesday morning in Tel Aviv, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu met with the leader of the National Union, MK Benny Gantz, to finalize the establishment of a national emergency government.
The meeting lasted about half an hour, and the parties remained in the city to finalize the details. Sources involved in the negotiations told Channel 12 that they are currently formulating the agreement, stating that “by the end of today, Israel will have a unity government.”
The plan being discussed includes the formation of a war cabinet, over the existing political-security cabinet, with the participation of the Prime Minister, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, former IDF Chief of Staff and Defense Minister Benny Gantz, and MK Gideon Sa’ar, along with other key ministers who will make the central decisions in the ongoing conflict.
On Tuesday, coalition leaders convened to discuss this matter. Netanyahu received a mandate to lead the establishment of an emergency unity government.
