Russia has presented Israel and the United States with a deal, by which Iran would withdraw its forces from Syria, in exchange for alleviating the economic sanctions imposed on Iran by the United States following their withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action in May, Israel’s Channel 10 News reported.

The deal was reportedly presented to Israel’s Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee on Monday by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, who has also assumed the role of Defense Minister after Avigdor Lieberman’s resignation last week.

According to MKs present at the meeting, Netanyahu revealed that he attended a meeting with United States Special Representative for Syria Engagement James Franklin Jeffrey, along with senior officials from Moscow in Vienna on November 8th, just a few days after holding a special meeting with Jeffrey in Jerusalem about the Iranian entrenchment in Syria.

Though Netanyahu presented the deal to the committee, he also pointed out that Israel has yet to formulate its position in the matter.
