SIMILAC® INTRODUCES THE FIRST AND ONLY BADATZ-CERTIFIED INFANT FORMULA IN THE U.S.

LAUNCH OF Similac Advance Lamehadrin™ MARKS ENTRY INTO THE U.S. KASHRUS MARKET, PROVIDING LEADING INFANT NUTRITION PRODUCTS TO ORTHODOX JEWISH FAMILIES

COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 26, 2018 — Similac infant formula, an Abbott brand and leader in infant and toddler nutrition, is launching Similac Advance Lamehadrin, the first and only Badatz-Certified (Cholov Yisroel) infant formula registered in the U.S., considered the most universally-accepted certifying agency for those seeking the highest level of kosher certification.

Good nutrition helps build the foundation for a child’s ability to learn, grow and thrive. For babies, the best nutrition is breast milk – but for moms who need or choose to use formula, Similac Advance Lamehadrin offers a unique blend of DHA, ARA and Vitamin E to help support babies’ growth and development. It is also gluten free and palm olein oil free.

“We recognize the need for high-quality, trusted infant formula in the growing Orthodox Jewish community in America,” said Daniel Salvadori, Executive Vice President, Nutrition at Abbott. “Similac Advance Lamehadrin offers nutrition from a brand they can trust, with Badatz certification to give them peace of mind.”

The Similac Advance Lamehadrin launch marks a new partnership between Abbott and Kayco, America’s largest manufacturer and distributor of kosher foods, including iconic brands like Gefen, Kedem, Haddar, Glicks and other leading kosher brands. Similac Advance Lamehadrin also has Orthodox Union certification.

“Today’s Orthodox families are looking for the highest quality kosher products,” said Charles Herzog, Vice President, New Business Development and Purchasing at Kayco. “We are thrilled that Similac is the first infant formula brand to enter the U.S. kashrus market and that we can help bring this important product to the Orthodox community. It makes purchasing nutritious kosher infant formula convenient.”

Similac Advance Lamehadrin infant formula is for baby’s first 12 months of life and sold in 30.8 oz. (900 g.) cans. Similac Lamehadrin Toddler Drink (Vanilla) is available for children 12-24 months old, and also sold in 30.8 oz. (900 g.) cans. Both products can be purchased at local kosher retailers in New York, New Jersey, Florida, California and Illinois, as well as online at Amazon.com.
