Landfall of Alberto is expected Monday afternoon or evening along the Florida Panhandle.

The main concern will be heavy rain over parts of Florida and the southeastern U.S.

Flash flooding and river flooding may become more widespread and last well into the week ahead.

Gusty winds and storm-surge flooding are likely along the Florida Panhandle and to the Big Bend of Florida.

Other impacts, including rip currents and tornadoes, are also expected.

Subtropical Storm Alberto is slowly approaching the northern Gulf Coast, bringing a threat of flash flooding, rip currents, gusty winds, coastal flooding and tornadoes to the southeastern United States this Memorial Day weekend, with the center of the storm likely making landfall along the Florida Panhandle Monday afternoon or evening.

The center of Alberto is currently within 50 miles of the Florida Panhandle coastline.
