Ariel (TPS) – Two Israeli security guards, a man and a woman in their 20’s sustained serious stabbing injuries during an attack which occurred on Thursday morning, December 24. The attacker was shot on the scene by the security guards.

According to Israeli Police reports, shortly after 09:00 AM the stabber approached the gate of the western industrial park on the outskirt of Ariel, a city in central Israel, where he preceded to stabbing the two civilian security guards at the gate.  The security guards opened defensive fire and killed their attacker.

IDF Spokesperson has confirmed this as an act of terrorism saying “a short while ago a terrorist attack occurred at the Ariel industrial park. Two Israelis sustained stabbing injuries and are being evacuated to a nearby hospital. The terrorist was shot on the scene.”

Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics arrived at the scene and administered life saving treatment to the victims. According to MDA paramedic Tomer Fine “a yougn man and woman sustained serious stab wounds. The man received defensive wounds to his hands and upper body and the woman, who was the first victim, was stabbed directly in the head.”

The two victims were fully conscious when they were  evacuated to Beilinson Hospital in the nearby city of Petah Tikva in serious but stable condition.

Beilinson Hospital stated that both victims are currently stable under hospital care, the man’s condition has significantly improved and is now defined as moderate, while the woman is still being treated, having sustained an injury to the head.

The Ariel western industrial park is a small complex of workshops and factories which mostly employs Palestinian laborers and workers. It was revealed that the terrorist had a legal working permit and was recently fired from a plastic factory at the industrial park.
