Howie Mandel to Host the Israeli-American Council’s 8th Annual Los Angeles Gala

The IAC – America’s fastest-growing Jewish organization – is expected to raise millions to support wide-ranging programs serving Israeli-American community

Beverly Hills, CA  –  Today, the Israeli-American Council (IAC) announced that Howie Mandel, the popular comedian and television host, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for its 8th Annual Los Angeles Gala, which will take place on Sunday, March 13th at the Beverly Hilton, and feature musical performances by David D’Or, one of Israel’s most acclaimed singers, composers and songwriters, and renowned flamenco guitarist Chico Castillo.

“The IAC is the beating heart of the Israeli-American community in Los Angeles and across the country,” said Howie Mandel. “I look forward to celebrating the organization’s rapid growth and its significant contributions to the community as the MC of the IAC’s Los Angeles Gala on March 13th.”

More than 1,000 people are expected to attend the event, including a wide range of elected officials, major civic figures, and community leaders. The evening’s theme – “More than a Community. Family.” – will offer an inspiring look at the IAC’s work in Los Angeles and nationally. Today, the IAC is the fastest-growing Jewish organization in the U.S., with regional councils in nine cities, and programs focused on activating the estimated one million Israeli-Americans in the country. Last month, IAC Los Angeles opened the IAC Shepher Community Center, which is the first Israeli-American community center in the country.

The gala will honor Los Angeles civic leader Shawn Evenhaim, CEO and Founder of California Home Builders, who is also a co-founder of the IAC, playing a central role in the organization’s expansion across the country as its National Chairman from 2011-2015. In 2014, Evenhaim was recognized by the Forward as one of the 50 most influential Jewish Americans.

“It’s the perfect time to honor Shawn, whose far-reaching vision, boundless passion, and tireless work has been a driving force behind the IAC’s expansion from a local organization into a nationwide movement,” said Miri Shepher, IAC Los Angeles Regional Council Chairwoman. “Shawn gives so much to our community in Los Angeles and across the country – and the IAC is thrilled to celebrate his big heart, tireless work, and major accomplishments.”

Joining Miri and Isaac Shepher on the Gala Committee will be Gila and Adam Milstein, Ronit Mizrahi, Eli Fitlovitz, Guy Bachar, Mazal Hadad, and Alon Haim. Tamir Cohen, a member of the IAC’s National Board and Los Angeles Regional Council, and his wife Galit, are the Gala Chairs.

About the IAC: Headquartered in Los Angeles, the IAC is committed to building an engaged and united Israeli-American community that strengthens our next generations, the American Jewish community, and the State of Israel. The IAC strives to achieve these goals through programs and events for all ages – and by empowering and supporting a wide array of non-profit organizations within the Israeli-American community.
