Twenty Chabad houses in Southern California will be joining together for the fifth year in a row to host a community-wide Yud Tes Kislev Unity Farbrengen marking the release of the Alter Rebbe, Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi from prison and celebrating the “Rosh Hashana of Chassidus”.
“This year we are trying something a little different by showing a video farbrengen of the Rebbe and then having Rabbi Simon Jacobson discuss the Rebbe’s talk”, said Rabbi Shimon Raichik. “We are trying to bring the extended Jewish community together at least once or twice a year with a large event that everyone, men and women, can participate it and find some inspiration” commented Rabbi Avraham Zajac of Chabad of Sola.
This is a great way for communities to join together and co-host an event that they would otherwise have to do on their own. “Pooling our resources makes this a cost effective way to create something memorable and beautiful for the entire community”, said Rabbi Zalmy Solomon of Bais Bezalel.
Doors open at 8pm and the program starts at 8.30pm. The event is co-sponsored by Mordechai Lederman in honor of his birthday – May he be blessed with a wonderful year of health, goodness and prosperity.
