A mission of governors and congressman from several states in Brazil came for a geopolitical tour of the Benyamin Regional council, located north of Jerusalem in the Southern hills of Samaria.
Pastor Everaldo Dias Pereira, President of the Brazilian Christian party, Wilson Lima, Governor of the state of Amazona, Claudio Castro, Vice-president of the state of Rio De Janeiro, a senator from the state Para and a congressman from the state of Rio De Janeiro were part of the Brazilian delegation.
The visit on Monday started in Shilo, Israel’s ancient capital, where the group toured the historical site and held a special prayer session at the place of the Tabernacle for the people of Benyamin.
They also met with Dr. Scott Stripling of Texas who is heading the current archeological excavations in Shiloh. An especially exciting moment occurred while Striping was discussing the unique findings from the last week when one of the diggers nearby found a 2,000-year-old coin from the Hasmonean period.
Pastor Everaldo noted at the site that from Hanna’s prayer which she recited at the Tabernacle we learn that our prayers are heard by God when we pray for others, “when we put aside our selfishness and prioritize collectivity”.
The second part of the visit took place at the Psagot Boutique Winery, where the delegation met with Israel Gantz, head of Benyamin Region Council, the largest in Israel.
“A major part of the Biblical history took place in the Benyamin region, and almost every hill has antiquities from ancient times. Our role is to bring back and revive healthy and happy lives in these hills,” Gantz stated.
Castro, the Vice Governor of Rio, asked about the security situation in the area, as he contends with similar challenges in his state. The delegation was impressed to hear about the emergency volunteer teams in the Benyamin communities, and specifically about the unique phone app developed to provide immediate emergency response to individuals in distress.
Gantz invited them back for a visit focused on security challenges and solutions.
