Israel will not allows its enemies to achieve the ability to harm it, said Wednesday in response to reports that Israel had carried out a strike on missile depots and launchers operated by Iran and its proxies in Syria.
“With Iran, we are implementing a policy of ‘Rise to kill those who seek to kill you’,” Bennett said. “We will not bury our head in the sand and ignore reality,” he added.
Israel, Bennett added, would be stronger and more determined than Iran in the event of a war between the countries that could be fought along its northern border and in Syria. “For the Iranian’s the war is 1,000 kilometers away from home, while for us, it’s a fight for our lives.”
In an address to students, the Education Minister also praised United States President Donald Trump for his decision to pull out of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action nuclear deal with Tehran. Bennett also praised Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for sticking to his tough stance on Iran and its nuclear ambitions.
“For so many years, people have sneered and scoffed at the Prime Minister and his consistent stance on Iran,” Bennett said. Today, the future of our children and our grandchildren is much safer. I think all of those who scoffed and sneered will be thanking him.”
