IDF Detains Terror Suspects, Confiscates Weapons in Overnight Raids
IDF and security forces arrested nine suspects overnight in Judea and Samaria, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said Monday. Four detainees are suspected of involvement in nationalistic terrorism and violence directed at both civilians and security forces. In the village of Saida near Tulkarm, two men were arrested for activities connected to the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, and two more in the town of Rantis, northwest of Ramallah, for activities connected to Hamas. All were transferred to the relevant security forces for further questioning.
In a joint operation with the Israel Police and Israel Security Agency in the town of Rantis, the IDF seized thousands of dollars used to finance terrorist activities along, with a computer and a brochure containing incitement material.
In addition, IDF and Border Police seized a homemade rifle and dozens of weapon parts in Shuhada. All the findings were transferred to the relevant security forces.
Also overnight, Jerusalem Police said that Border Police forces seized an illegal rifle during a routine search in the Shuafat neighborhood of East Jerusalem, and arrested the owner. Police detained the suspect for questioning.
