IDF Seizes Money Rewarded to Terrorists’ Families
IDF and security forces carried out a large-scale operation in Hebron overnight designed to seize money given by Hamas to families of terrorists to reward them for perpetrating terrorist acts.
The IDF confiscated thousands of shekels at dozens of sites. Some the targets raided included the homes of the families of the terrorists responsible for the kidnapping and murder of 16-year-old Naftali Fraenkel, 16-year-old Gilad Shaer and 19-year-old Eyal Yifrah in June, 2014. According to the IDF Spokesperson’s Office, the families of the perpetrators enjoyed receiving significant sums of money since the abduction and the status that comes along with the money empowers them on the Palestinian street and promotes the recruitment of the next generation of terrorists.
In addition, two expensive vehicles and computers were confiscated.
In the Binyamin region, the IDF arrested 14 people responsible for terrorism in the area, including six in the Palestinian village of Silwad, northeast of Ramallah. The operation also included the arrest of a terror cell responsible for regularly throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails on Route 60 in the Palestinian village of Hizma near Jerusalem.
