President Reuven Rivlin met on Monday with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Beit HaNasi in Jerusalem and granted him a further two weeks to form a government.
Rivlin stated that “after you presented the need for additional time to complete forming a government, and according to clause 8 of Basic Law: The Government, I hereby extend the time allocated to form a government by fourteen days.”
According to the law, Netanyahu was allocated 28 days to form the government. Rivlin granted an extension to this period of 14 additional days.
Netanyahu has met with all the potential coalition partners and now that the national holidays are over he is expected to iron out the details of the agreements with the various parties.
