Capitol car attack suspect described himself as a ‘follower of Farrakhan’

0

According to his now-deleted Facebook profile, the attacker was a follower of the antisemitic, black nationalist Nation of Islam and a “devotee of Louis Farrakhan.”

A motorist rammed a car into US Capitol police on Friday and brandished a knife, killing one officer and injuring another and forcing the Capitol complex to lockdown in an attack that police said did not appear to be terrorism-related.

Police shot and killed the suspect.

Yogananda Pittman, acting chief of the US Capitol Police, said the suspect drove into the officers, then hit a barricade and got out of the vehicle, lunging at them with a knife.

“It is with a very, very heavy heart that I announce one of our officers has succumbed to his injuries,” she told a news conference, her voice choked with emotion.

Police identified the slain officer as William “Billy” Evans, an 18-year veteran of the force and father of two children. Officials said the other officer was in a stable and non-life threatening condition.

“It does not appear to be terrorism-related but obviously we’ll continue to investigate,” said Robert Contee, acting chief of the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington.

President Joe Biden said he was heartbroken by the attack and ordered flags at the White House be lowered to half-staff. In a statement, he said he was being briefed on the investigation.

The suspect was named as Noah Green, 25, of Newport News, Virginia, multiple media organizations reported, citing police.

Green spoke on Facebook about the “end times,” the anti-Christ and government “mind control,” according to the reports. He also said he was unemployed after leaving his job, “partly due to afflictions,” and praised the anti-Semitic black nationalist Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.

Farrakhan has a long history of promoting anti-Semitic conspiracy theories such as Jewish and Israeli involvement in the September 11 terrorist attacks in the US, claiming that Jews controlled the trans-Atlantic slave trade and calling Judaism a “gutter religion.”

Farrakhan had previously compared Jews to termites on social media.

In screenshots obtained by multiple sources, Green could be seen calling himself “Noah X” in the style of Malcolm X.

“My faith is one of the only things that has been able to carry me through these times and my faith is centered on the belief of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan as Jesus, the Messiah, the final divine reminder in our midst,” Green wrote in a Facebook post obtained by the Stop Anti-Semitism movement. “I consider him my spiritual father.”

Law enforcement officials confirmed that on Facebook, Green had posted speeches and articles written by Farrakhan and Elijah Muhammad, who led the Nation of Islam from 1934 to 1975, that discussed the decline of America.

In December 2020, he petitioned to change his name to Noah Zaeem Muhammad but failed to appear at his hearing in Indianapolis last Tuesday, The New York Times reported.

Facebook said in a statement that it removed the suspect’s accounts from Facebook and Instagram and were in contact with law enforcement.

Brendan Green told The Washington Post his brother had been violently ill on Thursday evening at the Virginia apartment they shared, and later sent him a text message saying that he planned to become homeless.

Police said the suspect was not known to them, and they had yet to determine what motivated him.

“Clearly this was someone who was actively trying to just get at whoever or whatever – we just don’t know right now,” Contee said. “Whether the attack was at law enforcement, or whoever, we have a responsibility to get to the bottom of it and we’ll do that.”

Dozens of police cars, marked and unmarked, raced toward the iconic domed white building, in an unwelcome reminder of January 6, when thousands of supporters of then-president Donald Trump overran the complex.

It was the worst security threat at the Capitol since that day, when scores of Capitol police were wounded, one was killed and two others later committed suicide.

US spy agencies warned in mid-March of an ongoing threat that racially motivated violent extremists would carry out mass-casualty attacks on civilians while militia groups would target police and government personnel and buildings.

Roads leading to the complex were blocked by police cars or officers and people inside the Capitol were told to stay away from windows for much of the afternoon before police announced that the lockdown had been lifted.

There were few people at the Capitol. Members of Congress were not in Washington on Friday, with both the Senate and House of Representatives on Easter recess.

Dozens of National Guard troops, who have been stationed at the Capitol since the January attack, quickly deployed. Heavily armed and in riot gear, they jogged in columns to stand in rows at the scene and around the complex.

Authorities have begun only in the past couple of weeks to remove the outer ring of high, razor-wire-topped fencing erected around the sprawling Capitol complex in the aftermath of the January 6 rampage. Many of the thousands of National Guard troops posted at the building in January have also been sent home.

Lawmakers have been arguing about how much security should remain on Capitol Hill, which is a popular park for city residents as well as the seat of government. Members of Congress from both political parties have introduced legislation to make it illegal to erect permanent fencing around the building.

The January 6 assault took place while the House of Representatives and Senate, with the Senate presided over by then-vice president Mike Pence, was certifying Biden’s November election victory over the Republican Trump.

Israel warns Biden administration of ‘destructive impact’ of ICC probe

0

Israel’s foreign minister told his American counterpart that the Palestinians’ active involvement in the ICC probe will “harm any
chance of progress.”

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will hold a meeting to develop Israel’s strategy in confronting the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) war crimes probe.

Israel has an April 9 deadline to respond to ICC correspondence on the matter and must decide whether to engage with the tribunal, which many say lacks legitimacy, or boycott its efforts.

On Friday, Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi spoke with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, a phone call Ashkenazi said was “important” in which they discussed the “common values shared by Israel and the US.”

Blinken informed Ashkenazi of the US’ intention to remove sanctions against the ICC.

The Trump administration had sanctioned the ICC and some of its members after it announced it was launching a probe against Israel for alleged war crimes it committed, following a campaign led by the Palestinian Authority (PA).

Blinken clarified that the US does not agree with the ICC’s “activities with regards to the Palestinian matter nor with the Court’s attempt to exercise its authority against non-member countries” such as Israel, and noted that the U.S. will “continue to uphold its commitment to Israel.”

Ashkenazi emphasized Israel’s “firm position” against the ICC’s jurisdiction and Israel’s absolute commitment to protecting its citizens and soldiers.

Israel has repeatedly stated that the ICC lacks any jurisdiction on this matter since no sovereign Palestinian state exists nor does any territory belonging to such an entity. Moreover, the PA has no jurisdiction over Israeli citizens.

Several countries expressed opposition to the ICC’s announcement.

Ashkenazi also clarified that the PA’s active involvement in advancing the case and the investigation will “harm any chance of progress whether that be at the political level or the situation on the ground.”

“The Palestinians’ activity has a destructive impact on relations with Israel,” he warned.

They also discussed regional strategic issues and Iran’s “perpetual and intensifying violations of its nuclear commitment as well as Iran and its proxies’ regional activities, which escalate and undermine the stability of the Middle East.”

Blinken updated Ashkenazi on the talks expected to be held this week in Vienna with Iran.

Representatives from the US and the powers that have signed the nuclear deal with Iran in 2015 will hold a meeting with Iranian representatives to discuss the renewal of the nuclear deal.

Iran has expressed readiness to make changes to the current state of its nuclear project in exchange for the complete lifting of sanctions.

They also discussed the Palestinian topic, including the U.S.’ renewed assistance to the PA.

“The strategic alliance between Israel and the US is based on many shared values and interests, and I see great importance in holding an open and honest discussion between us,” concluded Ashkenazi.

Blinken stated that it was “great” speaking to Ashkenazi to discuss the US’ “unwavering dedication to Israel’s security,” as well as the US’ “commitment to freedom, prosperity, and democracy for Israelis and Palestinians.”

State Department Spokesperson Ned Price stated after the conversation that Blinken “emphasized the Administration’s belief that Israelis and Palestinians should enjoy equal measures of freedom, security, prosperity, and democracy.”

Blinken reiterated the US’ “strong commitment to Israel and its security and looks forward to strengthening all aspects of the US-Israel partnership.”

Former Member of Knesset Ayoub Kara warned that the Biden administration’s decision to lift sanctions on the ICC will “give the Hague tribunal a tailwind to continue making anti-Semitic decisions against Israel.”

Report: Bennett aiming for right-wing gov’t with Netanyahu, Sa’ar

0

Yamina chairman reportedly looking to enlist New Hope chief Gideon Sa’ar in bid to form right-wing government led by Netanyahu.

Yamina party chief Naftali Bennett is working to find a path towards a stable governing coalition, with a preference for a right-wing government led by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Channel 12 reported Sunday.

After meetings with Netanyahu and Opposition Leader Yair Lapid, Bennett is reportedly leaning towards supporting Netanyahu’s bid for a sixth term as premier, with the aim of securing a right-wing governing coalition which does not rely on the United Arab List (Ra’am).

According to the report, Bennett is hoping to win over New Hope chairman Gideon Sa’ar, thus ensuring 65 seats for a rightist government led by Netanyahu.

Thus far, however, Sa’ar – a long-time Netanyahu rival who challenged the prime minister for leadership of the Likud before bolting the party – has refused to consider joining a Netanyahu-led government, insisting he will adhere to his campaign promise not to back the Prime Minister for an additional term.

A second option would be to help Netanyahu form a minority government of 59 MKs which relies on the support of the United Arab List’s four MKs from outside of the coalition.

The Religious Zionist Party has vowed to block such a government from being formed, however. Without the Religious Zionist Party, Netanyahu’s government would have just 53 MKs – far below the 61 needed for a majority and too few even if the UAL’s four MKs supported the coalition.

If both options are found not to be viable, the report Sunday claimed, the Yamina party
will push for the formation of a centrist government spanning the political spectrum, with Bennett serving as prime minister for part of the term, before being replaced by Yesh Atid chairman Yair Lapid.

Yamina’s top priority, the report claimed, is to avoid a fifth general election.

Iranian official reiterates: No direct or indirect talks with US

0

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi: Iran will not accept
any step-by-step plan to revive the 2015 nuclear agreement.

Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator on Sunday stressed once again that Iran will not hold any direct or indirect talks with representatives of the United States during a meeting of the parties to the 2015 nuclear agreement that is scheduled for Tuesday in Vienna.

“We will negotiate with the Joint Commission and the P4+1 countries, and will communicate them our request and condition for a return to the Joint Comprehensive
Plan of Action (JCPOA),” Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said, according to the Xinhua news agency.

Iran’s demand, he added, is that Washington first fulfills all its obligations in the JCPOA, lifts all the sanctions it has imposed on Iran, and then Iran will return to full compliance with the agreement.

If China, Britain, France, Russia and Germany succeed in convincing Washington to lift all the sanctions “by any means they know,” Iran will comply, he noted.

The Vienna talks will be “of a purely technical nature” regarding the sanctions that must be lifted, the actions that must be taken by Iran, and the order in which the sanctions must be lifted by the United States and verified by Iran, continued Araqchi.

Araqchi made similar comments on Friday, after a senior US administration official confirmed that the members of the Iran nuclear deal and the United States will visit Vienna in the first effort to kickstart face-to-face negotiations to salvage the pact.

The official said that senior officials from the governments of Iran, France, the UK, Germany, Russia, China, the US and the EU will all be in the same city. The American and Iranian officials will not meet directly, but the US team plans to meet officials from the other countries that are signatories to the deal.

Iran has gradually scaled back its compliance with the 2015 deal in response to former US President Donald Trump’s withdrawal from the agreement in May of 2018.

Current President Joe Biden has expressed a desire to return to the deal but has stressed that Iran must resume compliance with it before any negotiations on a US return to the agreement.

The US recently accepted Europe’s offer to mediate conversations with Iran regarding the 2015 nuclear deal.

Iran, however, rejected the proposal, claiming that the “time was not right” to hold such talks.

Araqchi stressed in his comments on Sunday that Iran will not accept any step-by-step plan to revive the agreement.

Los Angeles top prosecutor to erase gang unit, sources say

0

His prosecution reforms have roiled critics and crime victim advocates.

Los Angeles County’s top prosecutor is reimagining, renaming and downsizing to eliminate a unit within his office that handles gang-related cases, sources told Fox News.

The unit is slated to be “decentralized” under George Gascon’s leadership, with a number of prosecutors in the Hardcore Gang unit expected to be transferred to other units. The unit currently has around 700 active cases.

Branch offices will get a “Special Trial Lawyer/Gang Coordinator” to assist prosecutors in absorbing the cases. No new gang or gun allegations will be filed.

Critics of the move argue it will result in more violence in communities.

In a statement to FOX Los Angeles, Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva called the move a “suicide pact.”

“While gang members are busy driving up LA County’s homicide rate, DA Gascon is now dismantling the Hardcore Gang Unit that works with local law enforcement,” he said. “This is not reform, this is beginning to look more like a suicide pact.”

Prosecutors also had sharp words for Gascon.

“It is a sad day for LA. The Gang and Narcotics units have both been slashed in half,” Los Angeles prosecutor Jonathan Hatami tweeted Wednesday.” This will lead to more violence on our streets, more victims in our communities. And it puts public safety at greater risk.”

Prosecutors working gang cases will be asked to set up community liaison relationships working with relevant police agencies to target specific gangs and gang members in an effort to reduce community violence, the source said.

The source said that prosecutors in the unit were told to wait for a phone call about their new assignments. If they chose to not remain in the new unit or whatever unit they are transferred to, a request for reconsideration will be honored.

“None of us will be asked to do anything we don’t want to do,” the source said.

The controversial changes come amid a series of criminal justice reforms implemented in the months since Gascon took office that have sparked nationwide backlash but also praise from criminal justice advocates.

In addition to halting efforts to charge juvenile suspects as adults, Gascon has also barred his prosecutors from attending parole hearings to oppose the release of prison inmates, from seeking the death penalty and has done away with enhancement charges, which add a significant amount of time to the prison sentences of convicted criminal suspects.

Recently, Gascon’s office blocked one of his prosecutors from filing gang enhancement charges against an MS-13 gang member accused of viciously assaulting a transgender woman inside a park.

Loved ones of crime victims have repeatedly blasted the chief prosecutor for not supposedly favoring the rights of criminals over victims.

“He’d be a great public defender,” Desiree Andrade told “Fox & Friends” earlier this month. “The district attorney’s office is about protecting us victims. I feel like… nobody has our back and it’s sad.”

In his first 100 days, his office has withdrawn 77 motions to transfer minors to adult court. Gascon and his backers claim the reforms “reduce recidivism and systemic inequities” within the criminal justice system.

Pfizer: Vaccine Effective Up To 6 Months Later

0

Pfizer says its vaccine continues to be effective against COVID-19 up to six months later.

Pfizer and its German partner, BioNTech, announced updated results Thursday from their ongoing late-stage study of more than 44,000 volunteers.

The companies said the vaccine was 91% effective against symptomatic disease and was even more protective in preventing severe disease. Of 927 confirmed COVID-19 cases detected through March 13, 77 were among people who received the vaccine and 850 were among people who got dummy shots.

There were no serious safety concerns and the vaccine also appeared to work against a variant first detected in South Africa, the companies said.

The U.K. and U.S. gave the emergency green light to roll out Pfizer’s vaccine late last year followed by many other countries. The vaccine is authorized for ages 16 and up.

This week, the companies said the vaccine is safe and strongly protective in kids as young as 12, based on a study of 2,260 U.S. volunteers.

Tucker Carlson: Biden’s ‘infrastructure plan’ is not about infrastructure, but you’ll still pay for it

Joe Biden avoids taxes, but has no problem raising yours.

If you watched Joe Biden sputter through his announcement of the administration’s $2 trillion “infrastructure plan,” you may have been left with some questions.

First, is this really about infrastructure? Bridges? Roads? Airports? Things we could actually use? Or is it yet another weird climate scheme/power grab/race-based redistribution plan? What exactly is this?

And by the way, $2 trillion sounds like a lot for anything. Won’t that kind of spending cause hyperinflation? If you print money like it’s not worth anything, doesn’t the value of that money decline? Normal people may have had questions like that.

Thankfully The New York Times was on the scene to quell all doubt. The Times approached Biden’s plan with the calculated enthusiasm of Izvestia applauding yet another record Soviet potato harvest.

“Biden Plan Stresses Jobs, Roads, and Growth” read one of the Times’ four separate front page headlines Thursday morning.

“$2 Trillion for ‘Once in Generation’ Fix of Infrastructure” read another. Ron Klain, the tech lobbyist-turned-White House chief of staff, was so grateful for the backup he tweeted out the front page himself.

What does the future look like that Ron Klain wants to win? Well, let’s be clear from the outset that this plan will not make your commute easier.

Only about 5% of that $2 trillion will actually go to roads and bridges. So, 5% on infrastructure, 95% on social engineering. That’s what Joe Biden calls a once-in-a-lifetime infrastructure bill. He’s right about part of it: It is once in a lifetime. If this passes, the next generation will live in a very different country.

Before we tell you what’s in the bill, a word about who will pay for it. In fact, we only need one word: You.

Taxes are going up dramatically. They didn’t have to, actually. Tax revenues no longer fund the ambition of our political class. The Federal Reserve does. When politicians want something, they just print the money. It’s called Modern Monetary Theory. They’ve been doing this for years, and it’s accelerating. There’s no actual reason to raise taxes anymore, for anything. But Joe Biden wants to, just to punish you. And he plans to do that.

The administration is calling for a tax increase of about $3 trillion over ten years. That includes taxes on individual income and investments, as well as corporations. That would make this the first major tax hike in 28 years.

But it’s actually a much bigger tax increase than anything we saw under the Clinton administration. In 1993, taxes amounted to only around 0.5% of GDP. This plan would come to roughly three times that – about $300 billion a year, or 1.36% of GDP. You’d have to go back to 1968 to find a bigger tax increase. It’s a big deal.

Have any questions? No questions allowed. Joe Biden doesn’t want to answer questions. This is an emergency. And in emergencies, you do what you’re told. Or you’re a racist.

JOE BIDEN: What I’m proposing [is] a one-time capital investment of roughly $2 trillion in America’s future, spread largely over eight years … Put simply, these are investments we have to make. We can afford to make them. To put it another way: We can’t afford not to.

“We can’t afford not to spend $2 trillion,” says Joe Biden, like the used car salesmen he is at heart. Biden knows he won’t be paying a dime. People like Joe Biden avoid taxes. Joe Biden himself avoids taxes, in fact.

In 2017 and 2018, Joe Biden and his wife dodged payroll taxes on more than $13.3 million they earned through speaking fees and book royalties. How did they do that? The Wall Street Journal reported that the Bidens “classified the income as S-corporation profits rather than taxable wages.” Surprised? Come on.

You also shouldn’t believe a word about how corporations are going to pay for this. We’d support it if that was the case. But they’re not. Corporate interests put Biden in the White House. They designed his policy, they sign off on every part of it, just like the credit card companies in Delaware once did. They’ll be fine.

Corporations shelter most of their money from taxes by passing the costs along to workers (in the form of lower wages) and customers (in the form of higher prices). That’s not a secret. Economists know that, and so does Joe Biden. None of this will hurt Amazon, that’s why Amazon is for it. Joe Biden isn’t interesting in getting into those details, such as the math. He’d like you to know that this bill is going to turn America into a scene from “The Jetsons.”

JOE BIDEN: Imagine what we can do, what’s within our reach when we modernize those highways. You and your family could travel coast to coast without a single tank of gas on board a high-speed train and connect high-speed, affordable, reliable internet wherever you live. Imagine knowing that you’re handing your children and grandchildren a country that will lead the world in producing clean energy technology. And we’ll address one of the biggest threats of our time. That’s what we’ll do.

Flying cars? Teleport machines? Sadly not. We’re going to “modernize those highways.” Quite honestly, a lot of them could use it. But what does modernizing highways mean exactly? A piece in The Washington Post gives us some idea.

According to the Post, an activist by the name of Amy Stelly has been demanding the removal — not the building, the removal — of a highway that cuts through her neighborhood in the city of New Orleans. She thinks the highway, known as the Claiborne Expressway, is bad. It’s an eyesore and contributes to pollution.

For years, she’s demanded local leaders get rid of it. But they refused. People use it. It’s an important stretch of road. But now the White House, and Joe Biden’s infrastructure plan, have decided that highway is an example of “historic inequity” that can be solved by “billions in new spending.” In other words, it’s a racist highway, and we’ve got to pay to tear it down.

Amy Stelly was enthused by this. “I’m floored,” she said. “I’m thrilled to hear President Biden would call out the Claiborne Expressway as a racist highway.” Presumably, the highway is also sexist, islamophobic. transphobic and dog whistles for White supremacy, not to mention QAnon insurrections. Gotta tear it down.

Expect a lot more highways to meet this fate. People who believe highways are racist will get tens of billions of dollars as part of this plan, as long as they’re in what the Biden administration calls “underserved communities.”

The entirety of this “infrastructure plan” is more like a mashup of intersectional theory from Weslyan and some kind of South Africa-style racial spoils system. We saw a taste of that earlier in the year, when Joe Biden sent billions of dollars to African-American farmers in this country purely because of how they looked. Now, that’s illegal, immoral and completely divisive, and of course reverse-racist – but it’s just the beginning.

In his infrastructure bill, Joe Biden calls for sending $25 billion to “historically [B]lack universities” and other “minority-serving institutions for research and development.” You may think it’s a good idea (and you should have to explain why), but it’s not infrastructure.

He also wants to “eliminate exclusionary zoning” and “needless barriers to producing affordable housing.” So your neighborhoods may have to make way for “multi-family dwellings.” You don’t want multi-family dwellings in your neighborhood? Doesn’t matter.
It’s equity. Shut up, racist. And there’s more where’re that came from.

Joe Biden also wants $100 billion for workplace development to, “reduce racial inequities in job training and hiring.” Huh? That doesn’t sound like eliminating racial discrimination in hiring, it sounds like mandating it.

“Wait a minute,” you might be wondering. “What does hiring people with certain skin colors have to do with infrastructure? Sorry to keep bringing us back to the point, but the point was supposed to be infrastructure.”

It’s not, really. And Democrats aren’t really pretending it is anymore. Democrats are in charge, this is their chance to take total control of the economy, and they’re going to use it.

REP. JAMAAL BOWMAN, D-N.Y.: We understand that to save our democracy and to evolve into the multi-racial democracy that we are, we have to take a holistic approach. So we spoke about infrastructure in alignment with a Green New Deal, ending our dependence on fossil fuels within the next 10 years. We spoke about education and fully funding our public schools and canceling student debt. We spoke about repealing the Hyde Amendment, a federal jobs guarantee, we spoke about a variety of issues in alignment with progressive priorities the people of this country are demanding.

This is why you don’t want the “theory” people in charge of anything. Sleazeball politicians of old would make the case: “Vote for me and I’ll fix the potholes.” They may have stolen some of the money you sent them, but in the end, they had to fix the potholes. They promised they would, and your commute got a little better.

But these people are not about fixing the potholes. It’s about “saving our democracy” and evolving into a “multi-racial democracy,” as if we don’t have that already. It’s also about something called the “Green New Deal.” And it’s not simply one deranged theory-addled member of Congress admitting it.

According to Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttigieg, former Mayor of South Bend, Rhodes Scholar and McKinsey consultant, we need this infrastructure bill to end hurricanes.

PETE BUTTIGIEG, MARCH 25: In the United States, transportation is the leading contributor to climate change, contributing to a pattern of extreme weather events, which takes a severe toll on our infrastructure. Every dollar we spend rebuilding from a climate-driven disaster is a dollar we could have spent building a more competitive, modern, and resilient transportation system that produces significantly lower emissions.

So according to top climatologist Pete … Hold on, we thought he was a McKinsey consultant? No, he’s a climate expert. Not even the climate experts understand the climate, that’s how complex it is, but Pete Buttigieg does, and he’s telling you it’s the roads that are causing hurricanes. We never had hurricanes before roads. He’s going to fix that. That explains why there’s $46 billion in the bill for the federal government to buy electric vehicles. Now, FBI agents can arrest you for sedition while driving Teslas.

“But, wait a second,” you ask. “Aren’t those Teslas powered by electricity made in part by coal plants?” Yeah, whatever. Shut up, insurrectionist.

Billions more go to tax credits for “clean energy generation and storage.” I wonder who owns those firms. Could they be Biden donors? I think so.

There’s a plan for building 500,000 electric vehicle chargers, an allocation of $174 billion to expand the market of electric vehicles – no one wants to buy them, but the government is going to make you want to buy them – and another $10 billion for a “Climate Conservation Corps” to “boost climate resilience.” Are they going to buy umbrellas? That would be a useful form of climate resilience. But they’re thinking bigger than that. This is about transforming our democracy.

You’ll notice that none of the spending goes towards aiding the oil workers put out of business when Joe Biden canceled the Keystone XL pipeline. They can learn to code.

According to the people who are really running the Democratic Party, though, none of this goes far enough. We’ve humiliated the Keystone XL workers and spent $2 trillion, but we need to go further.

According to Sandy Cortez, pampered scion of Westchester, we need to spend a lot more money or else you’re racist.

REP. ALEXANDRIA OCASIO-CORTEZ, D-N.Y., MARCH 31: I have real concerns that $2.2 trillion isn’t actually going to get us there. So we’re going to have to make deeper investments … We are in a devastating economic moment. Millions of people in the United States are unemployed. We have a truly crippled health care system and a planetary crisis on our hands and we’re the wealthiest nation in the history of the world. So we can do $10 trillion.

Another math lecture from High-IQ Sandy. She doesn’t care, by the way. None of them care about the consequences of this. What are the consequences of this, exactly? What happens if all this money gets into the system? Could it affect your life?

Take a look at a chart of commodity prices, and that will give you one sense.

The government injected trillions of dollars into the economy, and what happened? The cost of almost every durable good, the things you need to live with, went way up. The price of lumber jumped more than 250%. Crude oil jumped 188%. Sugar, 50%. Copper and tin went up by more than 80% each, and so on. It became a lot more expensive to live here. That’s fine if you’re Joe Biden or Sandy Cortez. Not fine if you’re you.

The cost to buy a home jumped by 11%. According to the United Nations Food Price index, the cost of food has just reached its highest level in seven years.

In other words, just by spending a lot of money they didn’t make, the people in charge are making it for much harder for most Americans to live here. That’s the cost of inflation. It’s a tax, and it’s insidious, and it’s impossible to control once it starts.

Meanwhile, the most powerful people in the country have never been happier. The cost of apartments in San Francisco has gone way down. The Dow Jones is up by 50%.

Private equity is booming. Cryptocurrency investors are also seeing huge returns. Some of them have so much money they’re making up things to buy. They’re investing in things called “non-fungible tokens,” or NFTs — which are literally useless digital tokens. The Nyan Cat meme just sold for $590,000 in “NFT format.” Now, it’s not the art that was sold. It’s the useless digital token. This is the tulip craze if there ever was one.

Those are the people who benefit from another $2 trillion in spending. And by the way, the tax increases won’t offset all this spending. Joe Biden plans to tax what economists call “savers,” which don’t bounce around as much in the economy. Taxing savers isn’t an effective way to curb inflation, because the money isn’t affecting as many transactions. It’s punitive.

But the party in charge isn’t concerned about inflation. They don’t care if it’s harder for you to get gas or buy dinner. They’re just upset you feel so entitled to drive your vehicle to work on their roads.

REP. EMANUEL CLEAVER, D-MO, ON “YOUR WORLD” MARCH 31: I do think that, given the preference, I, and probably many others, would like to see the gasoline tax raised. As you know, that has been talked about for decades. And unfortunately, Americans have become so accustomed to the low gas prices, and even though I would challenge anybody if they leave wherever they are right now, looking at this — at your show, to go out and ask ten people how much they pay in federal gasoline taxes, they can’t tell you. They won’t be able to tell you until a number’s put out there, when somebody says we’re going to raise the taxes in order to pay our infrastructure costs, or the re-building of our infrastructure, and then, all of a sudden, somebody will start waging a war.

So the real problem with America is gas prices are too low. So people who don’t live in cities, people who drive for a living, just aren’t paying enough. That’s the problem, and those ungrateful Americans don’t even know it.

What’s going on here? Trillions of dollars changing hands. This is looting. Just as their supporters did in Minneapolis last summer, the Biden people are looting the country. They’ve done nothing to build America. Susan Rice, Barack Obama, Ron Klain, and the rest of the people making these decisions haven’t created a single thing. They’re not creators. They’re takers, and they’ve gotten rich doing it.

How much did Susan Rice make in the last few years, and how did she make that money? They’re just stripping the corpse. And when it falls apart, they’ll be gone. In the meantime, welcome to hyperinflation.

Israel signs multi-million-dollar strategic accord with Morocco

0

“Beyond the important potential for additional trade, there are now infinite investment opportunities that Moroccan and Israeli private sectors can take advantage of,” says the president of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises.

Jerusalem and Rabat have signed a strategic accord worth hundreds of millions of dollars, Israel Hayom has learned.

The heads of the Israel Manufacturers Association, the Israel Farmers Federation and the Israeli Federation of the Chambers of Commerce signed the unprecedented agreement with the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises, also known as CGEM, on March 27.

According to Zeev Lavie, director of international trade at the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, “The leading fields of trade will be food and agriculture, spare parts and vehicles, chemicals and mechanical equipment. On the other hand, Morocco looks forward to various technologies in the renewable energy fields, water treatments, agriculture and health.”

At the signing ceremony, the president of CGEM said, “Beyond the important potential for additional trade, there are now infinite investment opportunities that Moroccan and Israeli private sector[s] can take advantage of locally, regionally and globally; in particular, as far as existing advantages in various sectors in our countries—like tourism, industry and innovation—are concerned.”

Israel Manufacturers Association President Ron Tomer said that he was “happy and thrilled to stand at the forefront of economy and trade through the renewal of Israel’s Morocco ties, following a lengthy, 15-year break. Many Israelis’ roots are in Morocco, where there has been a large, thriving Jewish community for years. It’s only natural that we are renewing and bolstering ties between the two states through a genuine, long-term partnership that will yield trade cooperation and assist in promoting imports and exports between Israel and Morocco.”

According to the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce President Uriel Lynn, “Israel and Morocco have special and long-term ties. Morocco has always been a natural destination for bolstering Israel’s collaboration in all fields of life, and certainly in the economic field. The Israeli market can enjoy cooperation with Morocco, which is situated between the European continent and Africa, and can serve as a bridge for Israeli companies for activity in the northern Sahara and the African continent.”

California Democrat suggests police, prosecutors and sheriffs groups are ‘White supremacist organizations’

California’s law enforcement groups, District Attorneys Association and State Sheriffs’ Association are allegedly all “White supremacist organizations,” a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors suggested in a livestreamed Facebook video Wednesday.

Holly Mitchell, a Democrat and former state Assembly member and senator, made the remarks during a forum on police brutality and racial justice as she was discussing the state Legislature’s progress police reform legislation over the past decade.

They come about 1 hour, 15 minutes into the video, titled “Stop LA Sheriff Attacks: Family Forum” posted by Black Lives Matter Los Angeles.

“Law enforcement and the District Attorneys Association and the Sheriffs’ Association, who just when you look at who represents them in Sacramento, is clearly such White supremacist organizations,” she said after touting the legislative accomplishments from when she was holding state offices.

She based her assessment on lobbyists working on behalf of those groups in the state’s capital, Sacramento, as left-wing lawmakers push “defund the police” campaigns.

“They know that they’ve lost more than they’ve won [in terms of getting legislation passed],” she said. “And I think that’s what then amplified their behavior, their behavior against you at the community level.”

She said the law enforcement groups also displayed “animus” toward lawmakers who oppose them.

The event was a public forum that including family members of people killed during police and deputy encounters. Mitchell’s office did not immediately respond to a Fox News request for comment.

A spokesman for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department said the office was not aware of the video when asked for a response to the accusations.

Mitchell, in a decade-long career in public office, has made criminal justice and police reforms key platforms.

One of her major legislative successes, a 2019 bill banning the trying of children under 16 as adults, was upheld by the California Supreme Court last month.

Super-speedy Israeli COVID test gets European approval; airport rollout planned

SpectraLIT eliminates the need for complex lab equipment by giving relatively accurate results after just 20 seconds of analysis, possibly aiding resumption of international travel.

An Israeli company said Wednesday that it received European approval for its rapid coronavirus test and it was poised to help kickstart international travel.

The handheld SpectraLIT machine eliminates the need for complex lab equipment by shining light through samples and giving immediate results using the spectral signature.

This means that staff in airport booths who are currently tasked with collecting test samples and dispatching them to labs will simply have a machine at hand and be able to give passengers results after just 20 seconds of analysis.

The system, which is being piloted at 36 hospitals worldwide, received European Medical Devices Directive approval for a swab version of its test, which allows it to start rollout across the European Union.

This represents a regulatory green light for most of the technology used in its flagship product: a gargle test that eliminates the need for swabbing and generates results from a mouthwash sample.

“This is an important milestone for fast testing,” Eyal Zimlichman, a senior doctor at Sheba Medical Center who helped develop the technology, told The Times of Israel.

“Despite the global rollout of vaccination efforts, COVID-19 still needs rapid diagnostic solutions to take steps back to normality, including international travel, and this represents an important milestone.”

Handheld antigen tests are becoming more widely available, but authorities are reluctant to deploy them in places like airports due to concerns about accuracy. The US Food and Drug Administration says that such tests are “less sensitive and less specific than typical molecular tests run in a lab.”

Zimlichman said that SpectraLIT consistently achieves relatively high accuracy — 70-80 percent — and is an important addition to the market because it will be very cheap. He said the accuracy of the artificial intelligence system was likely to increase over time.

Eli Assoolin, who led the development team, said he now expects the swab version and gargle version of his test to be widely rolled out, including at airports, in the coming months.

“We think that the mouthwash test will soon be a solution that is widely used across the world,” he said, adding that the swab test approval is also important, as it allows cheap and reliable testing with minimal equipment.

Instead of relying on chemicals and lab processes to make coronavirus RNA readable by detection devices, as with regular swab tests, the small SpectraLIT machine shines light through the sample and onto a special chip to determine whether a person is COVID-positive.

Part of the light is absorbed, and the rest is captured by the sensors. The process is known as determining the sample’s spectral signature: matter reflects different light signatures, depending on its composition.

The test was developed by Assoolin’s company Newsight together with Sheba Medical Center under the freshly formed Virusight Diagnostic.

The company delayed a deployment in airports that was planned for late 2020, after the outbreak of several mutated COVID-19 variants, but Assoolin said that the software has now been adjusted to cover all strains and can easily be recalibrated to detect new variants.

He added that the artificial intelligence platform can also be tweaked to detect other pathogens, meaning he believes it is a solution that will be deployed in future health crises.

“Virusight’s artificial intelligence is actually a diagnostic platform for many potential cases of pathogen diagnosis, able to change the way the world deals with pandemics,” he said.
