It’s not every day that kids get taken down to the field at Dodger Stadium. This summer, a group of Chai Lifeline warriors got a taste of pregame fame when they descended onto the infield and yelled, “It’s time for Dodger Baseball!” The crowd went wild, and it wasn’t only because the game was about to begin.

More than 160 seriously ill children, their families and counselors had a super time watching the home team trounce the New York Mets at this year’s baseball outing. The game was just part of the experience as our energetic volunteers led our group in Dodgers cheers and a wave, and handed out non-stop food and gifts to the kids. The Dodgers donated not only the seats but also Dodger souvenirs. Jeff’s Gourmet Sausage Factory made sure we all had enough to eat by supplying those delicious signature hot dogs.

The evening was especially wonderful for west coast Camp Simcha campers who had just returned from camp. Together with our counselors and volunteers, they brought the camp spirit to Los Angeles!
