Joining a group of 9 nine other elite women who can boast impressive accomplishments is Ms. Ruth Lichtenstein, an Orthodox woman, who has been named one of the top living Jewish Women Role Models. Among the influential women listed by the Algemeiner Journal by Ronn Torossian, CEO of 5WPR, are Sheryl Sandberg, Chief Operating Officer of Facebook, Ayelet Shaked, Israel’s Minister of Justice, Miri Adelson a medical doctor, businesswoman, and philanthropist who owns 26.9% of Las Vegas Sands, Karnit Flug, the Governor of the Central Bank of Israel and chief economic adviser to the government, and Nitsana Darshan Leitner, who, as founder of the Israel Law Center, has long fought for terror victims worldwide.

“Ms. Lichtenstein is the very strong female publisher of the ultra-Orthodox newspaperHamodia; it is the largest Jewish daily news venue in the world…,” the newspaper article states. A Jerusalem-born educator and a prominent Holocaust historian, Ms. Lichtenstein is not content to be a leader in the world of Jewish journalism. This educator and idealist, driven by an urgent belief in the importance of sharing Holocaust history and its implicit messages before it is too late, is also the founder and director ofProject Witness, a non-profit Holocaust Education and Research Center. Project Witness disseminates worldwide Holocaust curricula and initiates original Holocaust research, as well as reaching out to tens of thousands who want to know more about their national history and identity. In a world shattered by anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial, Ms. Lichtenstein has revitalized Holocaust study. According to the article, “Ms. Lichtenstein is a pillar of faith in Judaism and her book Witness to History offers a remarkable, unique country-by-country history of the Holocaust. A Haredi leader, she commands respect, and epitomizes compassion, faith, and absolute dignity.”
