An Amber Alert was issued after a 2-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped by his father in Boyle Heights, according to LAPD. A 26-year-old man allegedly kidnapped the boy at 1020 S. Lorena St. before 6:30 a.m., Officer Norma Eisenman with the Los Angeles Police Department Media Relations said. The boy’s mother was putting him into a Nissan Quest when her ex-boyfriend took the vehicle and child, Eisenman said. The father was identified as Abraham Vargas by officers at the scene. The woman had a restraining order against the man, Eisenman said. The vehicle was orange with the license plate 7CIN189. The man was described as 180 pounds and Hispanic, she said. The boy was wearing a red sweatshirt and blue sweatpants, she said. LAPD originally reported the license was 4CIN189.
