Firefighters Battle Blazes Along Gaza Border

Firefighters were combatting several blazes in Eshkol Regional Council Tuesday as Palestinians launched incendiary kites and balloons from the Gaza Strip.
Over the past several weeks, arson squads launching kites and balloons over the border have set ablaze thousands of acres of farmland in the Gaza Belt region, causing millions of shekels in damage.

The IDF has accused Hamas of directing the arson attacks. On Sunday, it posted a video showing Hamas operatives preparing incendiary balloons and then launching them across the border.
“The arson attacks are a deliberate act of terrorism carried out by Hamas against Israeli civilians, farmlands and nature,” an IDF Spokesperson said.
