The North Miami Beach Police Department has sworn in Florida’s first frum police officer, Local 10 reports.
Yehuda Topper was sworn in on Thursday evening at the Senator Gwen Margolis Amphitheatre.
Yehuda is shomer Shabbos and commented on his shemiras Shabbos.
“The Sabbath is the 7th day God rested,” he said.
Topper is a former New York Police Department officer, serving in the NYPD for 5 years.
Arthur Sorrey, the city manager, called the hiring of the first frum Florida police officer a “big deal for us.”
