Former Russian President Medvedev Warns of Threat of Nuclear War

MOSCOW (Reuters) — Former Russian President Medvedev said on Thursday in comments posted on social media that “defeat of a nuclear power in a conventional war may trigger a nuclear war,” referring to Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine.

The Kremlin said on Thursday that the remarks by Medvedev that the defeat of Russia in Ukraine could trigger a nuclear war were in full accordance with Moscow’s nuclear doctrine.
