More than 650 people in 37 states have become ill in a salmonella outbreak linked to onions imported from Mexico

At least 129 people have been hospitalized in the outbreak as of Wednesday

A Food and Drug Administration investigation identified ProSource Inc. of Hailey, Idaho as the source of the contaminated onions

They were imported from the State of Chihuahua, Mexico in August

It advises consumers and businesses not to sell or eat onions distributed by ProSource from July 1 through August 22

They can be identified with packaging or stickers

Anyone who is unsure where their onions came from should throw them out
The FDA is also investigating whether any other onion distributors are linked to the outbreak

More than 650 people in 37 states have fallen ill in a salmonella outbreak linked to onions imported from Mexico, and at least 129 people have been hospitalized as a result.

Of the 652 people infected, the Centers for Disease Control reports, 60 were new infections as of Wednesday, and of the 129 hospitalizations, 13 were new.

No deaths had been reported.
