Muhammad Makhruk and Jabril Zebidi, residents of the Jalazone Refugee Camp north of Ramallah are accused of opening fire on the community of Beit El on Dec. 18, 2022.

A joint statement issued by the Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) and the Israel Defense Forces said that the suspects failed to injure anyone in their attacks.

“Locating the local terrorist squads they were members of, and quickly thwarting them, removed a real threat from the area. At the end of the investigation, the suspects are expected to stand trial for their activities,” the statement said.

The announcement came one day after Elan Ganeles, an American-Israeli citizen, was killed in a drive by shooting near Jericho.

Also on Monday, terror victims Hallel and Yagael Yaniv were laid to rest after being shot dead in a terror attack by the Palestinian village of Hawara.

In an ongoing sweep against terror in Judea and Samaria, the Israel Defense Forces have thwarted 500 terror attacks and arrested more than 2,500 suspects. Operation Wave Breaker was launched following a surge of Palestinian terror attacks in the spring of 2022 which killed 19 people.
