Israel Ranked Safest Country in Corona Crisis in Intl. Rating

Israel has been ranked the safest place in the world in regards to the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) by the Deep Knowledge Group, a consortium of organizations and companies working in breakthrough technology and high tech engineering innovation through scientific advances.

The ranking was based on data by the World Health Organization (WHO), King’s College London, the Johns Hopkins University in Maryland, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the US’ leading public health institute.

Singapore, Slovakia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Hungary, Austria, Germany, and Greenland also ranked in the top ten.

According to the ranking, Singapore is the country with the most efficient treatment, followed by five other Asian countries.

The riskiest country to be in is Italy, with Iraq (number four), Iran (number five), the US (number eight) and the UK (number nine) all featured in the top ten.

Israel was one of the first countries to introduce travel restrictions on citizens of several states that had been affected by the virus early on. At the time, Israel’s policy drew stark criticism from diplomats.

Most countries have since followed Israel’s example, sealing off borders and asking foreign citizens to leave the country, as global travel came to a standstill.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday introduced new Coronavirus related restrictions, banning weddings, and prayer in groups, while funerals are only to be held in open spaces as Israel prepares for the upcoming Passover holiday and as the number of Corona deaths is Israel was counted at 17 on Tuesday morning.

The Ministry of Health on Tuesday morning updated that the number of Corona patients in Israel was 4,831, with 83 in serious condition, 95 in moderate condition, and 163 who have recovered.

The mortality rate in Israel among Corona patients is one of the lowest in the world, with a 0.37% death rate. Italy has an 11% mortality rate, England has a 6% rate, the US has 1.7%, and Germany has 0.8%.
