Senator Kamala Harris, (D-CA) who has been chosen as Joe Biden’s running mate in his bid for the US presidency, has in the past endorsed and actively supported an American Muslim organization, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

CAIR is unabashedly anti-Israel, supports BDS and has in the past been linked with the Holy Land foundation which was indicted for its support of terror group Hamas.

According to a report by the Washington Beacon,  “as California’s attorney general and then as U.S. senator, Harris forged a relationship with CAIR.”

The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) President Morton A. Klein and Chair Mark Levenson, Esq. has called on Harris to repudiate CAIR for its blatant anti-Israel stance.

CAIR was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in one of the largest terrorism-funding cases in American history and continues to lie about Israel and incite hatred against the Jewish state. CAIR even falsely accused Israel recently of instigating COVID-19 outbreaks in the Gaza Strip and Judea and Samaria.

CAIR’s California branch initiated a petition to Harris and her co-senator Dianne Feinstein asking them to support sending aid to the Palestinian Authority and Gaza. The petition stated that “Israel’s brutal siege and illegal occupation have led to a scarcity of medicine, food, and security in the region.

“Over 100 cases [of COVID-19] have been confirmed since March 30, 2020 in Palestinian territories. The declining quality of life and human rights violations due to the Israeli occupation, coupled with the Trump Administration’s withholding of humanitarian aid, are directly impacting resources available for Palestinians to use to defend against the virus.

In the past, CAIR officials have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror, according to Jihad Watch.

CAIR’s cofounder and longtime Board chairman, Omar Ahmad, as well as its chief spokesman, Ibrahim Hooper, have made Islamic supremacist statements about how Islamic law should be imposed in the U.S.

CAIR has also advised Muslims not to cooperate with law enforcement . A CAIR official once called for the overthrow of the US government and another expressed open support for Hamas even though it is designated a terror organization by the US. Despite this dubious track record, Harris received advice from CAIR on community issues in California and in 2018, she wrote to CAIR: “Please accept my gratitude and admiration for your tireless work to promote peace, justice, and mutual understanding.”

Previously Harris had received campaign funding from CAIR and had hosted the organization for an interfaith community event following a deadly terrorist attack in San Bernardino.

The event was held after a terrorist attack carried out by a Muslim Pakistani couple killed 16 and wounded 24. While the press release about the event claimed the intention was to condemn terrorism, it also was intended to condemn the reaction to the Islamic attack which Harris described as “Islamophobic.”
