Jerusalem, 19 July, 2022 (TPS) — The Knesset is hosting a two-day seminar for dozens of parliamentary representatives in senior positions from around the world.

The guests will hear a series of lectures and workshops by Knesset employees to learn about the work of the Knesset on a number of topics such as legislation, security, cyber protection, employment of employees with disabilities, a green parliament, spokespersons and the media, and other topics.

Knesset Director-General Gil Segal stated that “11 legislatures from all over the globe want to learn and share and send the best employees here. The Knesset will share with them the knowledge and experience gained by its people. The seminar that is taking place these days is an expression of the expansion of the Knesset’s professional cooperation circles and its return to the international arena at the end of the Corona pandemic.”

Seminar participants have come from South Korea, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Canada, the Czech Republic, Austria, Armenia, Hungary, the Netherlands, Greece and Germany.

This seminar ??is the latest in the Israeli parliament’s international collaborations.

A delegation of members of the House of Representatives of the bicameral Dutch Parliament, the “States General.” visited the Knesset on Monday and held meetings with Knesset Speaker Mickey Levy and Deputy Speaker of the Knesset MK ?Zvi Hauser.

Levy discussed with the Dutch MPs the regional challenges Israel is currently facing as “the lone democratic country in the region,” and answered questions from the visiting lawmakers, particularly about “the Palestinian issue.”

Hauser stressed that “Iran presents a global threat,” and noted that “numerous countries in the Middle East have recently seen the advantages of cooperating with Israel and advancing the Abraham Accords.”

The Dutch MPs noted that it was important for them to become more familiar with issues related to Israel because “they routinely deal with these issues during deliberations of the Dutch Parliament.”

Members of Knesset have recently been to the Czech Republic and Ireland, and the Knesset hosted delegations from NATO, the French parliament, and Ghana.
