Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu thanked United States President Donald Trump at Sunday’s Cabinet meeting for the US decision to move its embassy to Jerusalem on May 14, the day Israel declared independence in 1948.
“This is a big moment for Israeli citizens, and a historic moment for the State of Israel,” Netanyahu said. “We will celebrate this moment together, all of Israel’s citizens. This has long lasting historical significance. I would like to thank President Trump on behalf of the government and on behalf of the people of Israel. President Trump, you are a huge friend of the State of Israel, and we all thank you.”
