Three Orthodox Jewish men were attacked in a kosher Dunkin’ Donuts shop in Miami Beach, Florida last week.

The incident occurred last Thursday morning, at a kosher branch of the popular chain, located at 341 West 41st Street, near Sheridan Avenue in Miami Beach.

Michael Lefkowitz was dining at the donut shop with two friends at approximately 5:30 a.m. last Thursday when they were confronted by the assailant.

“The fellow walks over and he starts asking me questions, do I know about or did I hear about a woman who got raped in another country, I said no. And then he just took his hand out of his pocket and he wacked me,” Lefkowitz told CBS Miami.

The attacker hurled a rock at Lefkowitz, and then proceeded to throw punches at the three men.

“Two of my friends jumped on him…they held him and grabbed him, then he freed himself and he ran away.”

Police later found the assailant on the roof of a nearby building. Authorities identified him as 32-year-old Leroy Jenkins

Two of the victims, including Lefkowitz, were evacuated to a nearby hospital after suffering minor injuries in the attack.

Jenkins has been charged with three counts of battery against elderly victims, and a count of resisting arrest.

Local police say they are not treating the attack as a hate crime.
