Israeli Security Cabinet Unanimously Rejects Negotiations with Hamas
The Israeli security cabinet unanimously decided today that Israel would not negotiate with a Palestinian government backed by Hamas, the terrorist organization that calls for Israel’s destruction. Considered a severe blow to peace talks, the ‘historic’ Hamas-Fatah unity pack was announced on Wednesday following a seven-year power struggle between the two factions.
After Hamas’s victory in the Gaza’s 2006 parliamentary elections, the Islamist group violently took over the Gaza Strip in 2007, throwing out many Fatah political and security officials while imprisoning others. Earlier this year, in January, Hamas Prime Minister, Ismail Haniyah, announced that the Hamas government would release Fatah political prisoners from Hamas prisons and allow Fatah leaders to return to Gaza during the reconciliation process.
US State Department spokeswoman, Jen Psaki responded to Hamas announcement of the unity accord, stating it was “disappointing.”
“It’s hard to see how Israel can be expected to negotiate with a government that does not believe in its right to exist,” Psaki stated on Wednesday.
During Thursday’s security cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that:
“Instead of choosing peace, Abu Mazen [Mahmoud Abbas] formed an alliance with a murderous terrorist organization that calls for the destruction of Israel.”
“Abu Mazen has formed an alliance with an organization whose covenant calls for Muslims to fight and kill Jews. Hamas has fired more than 10,000 missiles and rockets at Israeli territory and has not halted terrorist actions against Israel even for a minute,” Netanyahu said.
“The agreement between Abu Mazen and Hamas was signed even as Israel is making efforts to advance the negotiations with the Palestinians. It is the direct continuation of the Palestinians’ refusal to advance the negotiations. Only last month, Abu Mazen rejected the framework principles proposed by the United States. Abu Mazen has refused to even discuss recognizing Israel as the national state of the Jewish People. He violated existing agreements by unilaterally applying to accede to international treaties and then formed an alliance with Hamas,” continued the Israeli prime minister.
“Whoever chooses the terrorism of Hamas does not want peace.”
Israeli Foreign Minister, Avigdor Liberman noted yesterday that “it was impossible to make peace with Israel as well with Hamas, a terrorist organization advocating for Israel’s destruction. Signing an agreement of a Fatah-Hamas unity government is tantamount to a signature on the end of negotiations between Israel and the PA.”

A 65 year old woman passed away suddenly over Yom Tov leaving behind one son. She was a huge baalei chesed, always visiting the sick and helping out those that couldn’t help themselves.
Being that her son is in school and she left no money behind, the community is getting together to honor her last wish of being buried with family out-of state with the respect and dignity she deserved.

Passover Eve Terror Attack Draws Strong Responses
A senior police officer was murdered, his pregnant wife (28) seriously wounded and one of their sons (9) was lightly wounded right before the Passover holiday by Arab terrorists who shot them as they were on their way to the holiday festivities. The deadly attack occurred Monday afternoon on highway 35, west of Hebron.
A civilian who was in one of the cars who were shot at told Tazpit News Agency he saw one terrorist firing at them. “He kept on firing and missed. We hit the gas and got away. We saw police on the way and notified them. We then met soldiers and bloxked the road so no one else would get hurt,” he said/
The IDF is still searching for the terrorists. There are reports of an arrest made in connection with the attack.
PM Netanyahu blamed the Palestinian Authority for the attack, saying it is a result of their incitement. Minister Uri Ariel (Bayit Yehudi) said that every terrorist release emboldens the terrorists, and demands the government cancels all future releases, and makes the cancelling of any PA steps at the UN a precondition to continuing any peace talks.
Yesha Council spokesman Yigal Dilmoni told Tazpit News Agency that he links this latest attack directly to the release of terrorists by the Israeli government as part of the peace negotiations with the PA. ”The Israeli government is currently engaging the Palestinians in an attempt to get them back to the negotiations table. While we are debating the release of tens of terrorists for no reason, there are those who view this as a sign of weakness: the terror organizations who are trying to resurge and re-enter the dark times during which the citizens of Israel feared to leave their homes. Since the beginning of the latest round of talks with the PA, during which terrorists were released, terrorism has been on the rise. 4 Israelis were murdered during 2013, after which during 2012 there were no negotiations and Israel had no casualties at all. We are at the beginning of 2014 and again the terror is responding to PA incitement and its demand of mass release of terrorists, harming an Israeli family on its way to the Seder. We must not succumb to the reckless demands made by the Palestinians.”
Yochai Damary, Head of the Hebron Hills Regional Council in which the attack occurred, pointed out the absurd of the situation, as he views it: “The terrorists executed his attack in broad day light, with no fear. Now the security forces, in an effort to capture the terrorists, are making a house to house search. This is absurd! Our soldiers are risking themselves to catch terrorists who may later be released in the next deal. This ridiculous situation must be stopped. I call on the prime minister and minister of defense not to be satisfied with verbal condemnations and exact a political price for the blood spilled. The terrorists’ objective was to take life and the response should be to add life in our region by declaring sovereignty, building and bringing more Israelis. This is the response to such a heinous crime. This response must be immediate and will deter terrorists from such actions in the future. This is our response to terror – to add life”

Donetsk Pro-Russians Deny Involvement In Anti-Semitic Flyer
Ukraine – A flyer distributed outside of a Donetsk synagogue containing the stamps and signage of the People’s Republic of Donetsk demanded the registration of Jewish residents and threatened deportation if not followed.
As reported by International Business Times (http://bit.ly/1m9TGms 
) the flyer shows the signature of the self-proclaimed “people’s governor” Denis Pushilin.
The flyer orders Jews 16-years-old and over to register with the pro-Russian group, pay a $50 (£30) registration fee and list all of the real estate and vehicles they own.
“In case of failure to register, the perpetrators will be stripped of their citizenship and deported forcibly outside the country with confiscation of property.”

Passover Eve: Israeli Murdered, Woman & Child Injured
Yesterday, during the Passover Seder night, terrorists opened fire on Israeli civilian vehicles. They murdered an Israeli police officer, critically wounded his wife, and injured a nine year-old child in a second vehicle.
Terrorists carried out the attack as the murder victim was on his way to the Seder dinner with his family. ”This tragic attack, killing an Israeli and wounding two others, is a horrific act of violencethat specifically targeted civilians that were travelling on the main road,” said IDF Spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner.
IDF forces during searches for suspects
“The IDF immediately began a widespread search in order to apprehend the gunman and is now shifting its efforts to intelligence in pursuit of the perpetrator,” he added.
Israeli security forces have contended with many violent incidents throughout Judea and Samaria in recent months. ”The characteristic of terror originating in Judea and Samaria in recent years is that of individuals without a substantial infrastructure taking up arms and attacking Israelis. This reality impedes our capability to prevent these types of attacks before they occur,” Lt. Col. Lerner said.
Attack Welcomed by Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad
Though they have not assumed responsibility for the attack, terrorist organizations in Gaza acclaimed it. “We in Hamas welcome the heroic act the took place in Hebron […] that killed one person and injured two others,” said Husan Badran, a Hamas leader. The Palestinian Islamic Jihad also published a statement praising the perpetrators of the attack.
Autism in the IDF: Meet the Soldiers of Intelligence Unit 9900
Special intelligence Unit 9900 is dedicated to everything related to geography, including mapping, interpretation of aerial and satellite photographs and space research. Within this unit there is a small unit of highly qualified soldiers, who have remarkable visual and analytic capabilities. They can detect even the smallest details, undetectable to most people.
The uniqueness of this elite group of intelligence soldiers in Unit 9900 lies in the fact that they are all diagnosed on the autism spectrum. We interviewed Col. J, the commander of Unit 9900, in order to learn more about this inspiring group of soldiers.

First time in history
“After many doubts and expectations the project came to light after almost a year of processing. There were many problems along the way. The actual process took about a year and I want to say that we started with the assumption that this could, should and would succeed,” says Colonel J, confessing that the success of this project exceeded the optimistic expectations of its initiators. “The concerns were understandable, because I knew nothing about autism. The result was a task of trial and error. Everything we did was happening for the first time in the history of the IDF. We planned, worked and focused until we achieved success.”
How does this group fit in with the other soldiers?
“They have excellent relations with the soldiers of the unit – from time to time, out of the building where they work I see them sitting with others in the unit, having lunch or just having a cup of coffee. No one forces them to do so. It is very natural, and I think that says it all.”
What type of work do they do?
“Their job is to take visual materials from satellite images and sensors that are in the air. With the help of their officers and decoding tools, they analyze the images and find specific things they need in order to allow those who are planning a mission to get the best data of the area.”
How it all began–The RR Plan
Mr. V and Ms. S, veterans of the IDF and the Intelligence organizations, introduced an idea – to utilize the special strengths of people on the autistic spectrum for the needs of the IDF and Israeli intelligence.
They contacted Unit 9900, who showed great interest in the idea and decided to be a partner for the first trial – interpretation of aerial and satellite photographs.
They then Contacted the Ono Academic College – a private academic institution and registered NGO, which also has a school for health professions. Ono Academic Coll
The aim of the RR Plan is to teach people on the autistic spectrum professions that utilize their special abilities, thus creating a Win-Win effect. The courses take place in the Ono Academic College. After the students finish the 3 month course, they join the army, where the RR program is still involved in guidance and assistance of the soldiers and their commanders.
Today, when everyone can see the success of the first trial course graduates, the RR plan is developing two more courses that utilize other strengths of the autistic spectrum. One course is for software quality assurance (QA) and the other is for information management. Both courses are developed in cooperation with Intelligence Units of the IDF, which will eventually be the home units for the course graduates.
Unit 9900’s special contribution
It is important to remember that people on the autism spectrum have strengths in music, mathematics, as well as the visual field. These autistic soldiers of Unit 9900 play a major role inintelligence gathering–a role not easily filled due to the difficulty of the task that this unit. The IDF believes in the ability of these autistic soldiers and will continue to work for their advancement in military and civilian life.
