Paris, Tel Aviv hold demonstrations protesting French court’s decision not to prosecute Sarah Halimi’s murderer.

The decision by France’s highest court to not prosecute the Muslim murderer of French Jewish woman Sarah Halimi is “clearly anti-Semitic”, former Israeli Ambassador to the United States Danny Ayalon charged, speaking to i24NEWS.

It would go down as a particularly shameful episode in the annals of the French legal system,

Protesters marched in Paris, Tel Aviv and elsewhere after France’s Supreme Court upheld a ruling that the man who killed 65-year-old Halimi in her flat in 2017 will not stand trial.

The court has ruled that the man, a heavy cannabis user who cried out “Allahu Akbar” as he threw Halimi off a balcony, was under a “delirious fit” and so is not fit for trial.

Addressing the rampant anti-Semitism in French society, International Legal Forum CEO Arsen Ostrovsky charged “How many more rallies do we have to see until the French Authorities understand the message: ‘Enough is enough.'”

French President Emmanuel Macron called last week for a change in the law to prevent murderers from resorting to a similar excuse in the future to escape justice; French Jewish groups said they will lobby for such a law.
