Eli Bin, head of the Magen David Adom ambulance service, confirmed that five people have been killed in the shooting in Bnei Brak.

The shooting began on Bialik and was followed up with additional shots fired on Hashnayim.

It is not clear what sparked the shooting or if it is terror related, but it is being treated as a terror attack.

A simultaneous shooting was reported in Ramat Gan.

A Magen David Adom paramedic said that a suspected terrorist and a civilian were found shot dead on Herzl Street, where another person was also wounded, and one person was found shot dead inside a car and two others were killed on Bialik Street.
Initial reports indicate that two gunmen opened fire in Ramat Gan where they killed four, moved to a second location in the same city where two more people were shot, and then to a third location in Bnei Brak.
Channel 12 reports that Israeli security officials believe the shooter in tonight’s apparent terror attack is a Palestinian from the West Bank.

Israel Prime Minister Naftali Bennett will hold a security consultation on tonight’s attack with Defense Minister Benny Gantz, Public Security Minister Omer Barlev, IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kohavi, Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar, Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai, and other security officials. The meeting will take place at 10 p.m. local time.

The observation is being made that this attack comes barely a week after the petirah of Maran Rav Chaim Kanievsky zt”l, whose non-stop limud haTorah certainly served as a protection of the city’s residents.
