Two Terror Attacks Foiled in 24 Hours By Israeli Forces

Hebron (TPS) – Vigilant Israeli policemen foiled an attempted stabbing attack against Jewish worshipers in the Cave of the Patriarchs on Wednesday morning, November 18.

Shortly after 9 a.m., Israeli Border Patrolmen at a security checkpoint to one of the gates of the Cave of the Patriarchs apprehended a 16-year-old Palestinian resident of Hebron in possession of a knife.

According to the Israeli Police spokesperson, the Palestinian youth aroused the suspicion of the patrolman as he attempted to pass through the security checkpoint towards the Cave of the Patriarchs. Policemen manning the checkpoint conducted a search of the suspect and discovered he was carrying a knife.

A security forces official told TPS that during his preliminary questioning the youth admitted to planning to carry out a stabbing attack.

Shortly after the arrest, Palestinians erupted in violent riots in the vicinity of the checkpoint in Hebron.

This is the second potentially lethal attack thwarted by Israeli security forces in less than 24 hours. On Tuesday, November 17, during a routine patrol on Route 60, an IDF force identified and neutralized an armed Palestinian squad.

The three terrorists opened fire at the IDF force and in the ensuing confrontation, the terrorist was killed while the other two were captured alive. No IDF soldiers were injured in the attempted attack.
