The mitzvah of burial is called “chesed shel emes”  – a compassionate act that can never be repaid. It is considered one of the most sacred mitzvot that a person can perform. Moreover, it is a mitzvah that we are supposed to drop everything for in order to perform. By helping pay for a proper burial you are participating in the mitzvah.

If everyone who opens this  donates at least $18 we will easily reach our goal.

May Hashem bless you for your help with this mitzvah,

Dear Friends,

We need your help, urgently, to make sure that one of our community member’s mother is ensured a burial, in accordance with Halacha, and not a cremation. As you may know, burial is essential in preserving the sanctity of the body and burying the dead is one of the greatest mitzvot one can participate in.

We are so grateful to have community support in this endeavor, and already so many have contributed their time, effort and money to make this happen! We need to raise $8,100 and are more than half way there. We need to raise another $3,000 as soon as possible. This is a rare and beautiful opportunity to help a meis mitzvah. When the body is not buried quickly, the soul is said to be hovering in between worlds and cannot return to its source. Let us expedite this process so that this soul can reach its place of eternal rest.

Please consider a donation to cover the cost of the burial. We appreciate whatever you can do. Donations are tax deductible.

When making your contribution please make a note that the donation should be directed to this cause.

Your participation would truly mean so much to the family and would help this Jewish soul return to its source.

Please share widely.

For any other questions you can also contact me directly.
