After operating at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza for a second day, a team of Zaka volunteers has discovered approximately 200 bodies in the hospital’s basement, Matzav.com has learned.
Among these, as reported earlier, the body of Yehudit Weiss, a 65-year-old mother of five who was abducted by Hamas on October 7, was recovered.
Currently, it is suspected that there are other bodies belonging to missing hostages, although this has not yet been confirmed. The daunting process of identification is underway.
Zaka Tel-Aviv volunteers are at the forefront of this grim but necessary task, working alongside medical examiners.
The identification process is painstaking and slow, with the bodies in such a state that the work is both physically and emotionally demanding.
