Another week of triple-digit heat is expected to continue in the Inland Empire this week while lingering clouds along the coastal communities will keep temperatures there relatively cool, meteorologists said Monday.

Temperatures already rose into the 100s on Monday, July 24, in Riverside County, with cities like Hemet and Moreno Valley predicted to hit highs up to 101 and 104 respectively by Tuesday or Wednesday, said National Weather Service meteorologist Miguel Miller. A little further south, cities including Murrieta and Temecula will see heat in the mid to high 90s for most of the week.
Cities including Rialto and Murrieta in San Bernardino County will see similar heat, with Tuesday getting the hottest temperatures — in the 100s — before a slight cooldown heading into the weekend.
San Bernardino Mountain communities will get relatively warm temperatures in the mid to high 80s, with a chance of thunderstorms over the area on Tuesday, Miller said.
Fog patches are expected to linger along the coastline in the afternoons for much of the week, with temperatures in the high 70s to stick around in Orange County cities including Huntington Beach and Laguna Beach.
Inland Orange County cities like Fullerton and Anaheim won’t get the same relief of light cloud coverage, with clear skies and temperatures hanging in the low to mid 90s.
Los Angeles County will also feel some serious heat, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Rich Thompson, with temperatures hitting around 101 and 99 in Woodland Hills and Pasadena respectively.
The Los Angeles County coastline will receive the same early morning-afternoon cloud coverage as Orange County, and similar temperatures in the mid 70s.
The heat is expected to subsist through the weekend, with a possible slight cool down near the end of the week, Miller said.
