Dr. Mindy Boxer – Three Tips to Staying Active at Any Age

Staying active as a teenager and young adult is never an issue, but as we age, it can be a challenge to keep moving, especially if you suffer from a health condition or injury. However, it’s important to keep yourself moving as it can lead to a host of physical and mental health benefits. Follow these three tips to stay active no matter what your age or fitness level.

Get Moving

The first step is to get moving. And it’s never too late to get started. A regular exercise routine can help you to relieve stress, reduce pain, improve your sleep quality, and lower your risk of chronic disease and injury, just to name a few of the benefits.

If you haven’t been active in a while, it can be overwhelming to even think about beginning a fitness routine. You may be wondering exactly how to get started. The key is to simply get moving. Start slowing with a short walk and gradually extend the distance to a level you are comfortable with. If you have significant health concerns, talk to your doctor about what kinds of exercises will work best for you given your current activity level.

Do Something You Love

Once you have made the decision to get moving, the second tip is to find something you love to do and do it! Whether it’s talking, Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, swimming, water aerobics, biking or light weight training, if you love to do it then you will be much more likely to develop a routine and stick to it. If you aren’t sure what to do, then try a variety of activities and see which one fits you best, just make sure it is something you really enjoy doing so you will be more motivated to do it.

Once you find the thing you love to do, aim for 150 minutes a week of moderate to intense aerobic activity. This is what experts recommend and don’t be afraid to start slowly and build up to this. Make sure to let your doctor know if you have shortness of breath, pain, or other issues as you increase your activity level.

Experts also recommend mixing in some muscle strengthening activities a couple of times a week as well. And it doesn’t have to be complicated, you can use books or cans of food as weights. Exercises like this, even if done while sitting down, can help you improve your strength and balance. Mixing up your activities can help you keep from getting bored with your routine.

And once you feel more comfortable and increase your fitness level, try something new and adventurous like taking dance lessons, tennis or golf lessons, or even incorporate yard work or minor home improvements to your routine. As you begin to regularly move, you will be amazed at the things you can do that you couldn’t do before.

Find an Exercise Buddy

And the third tip to staying active is to get a buddy to take this new fitness journey with you. If someone is counting on you and holding you accountable, you are much more likely to stick to your routine. And let’s be honest, everything is more fun with a friend.

You can make your fitness routine a social one by starting a walking group through your neighborhood. Or get a group of friends to take water aerobics or tai chi lessons with you. Ballroom and salsa dancing lessons are always more fun with a partner.

Consistent exercise, strength training with a bit of cardio to increase the heart rate, combined with healthy dietary choices, and regular Acupuncture treatments can help you stay active safely and improve your quality of life as you age. It’s never too late to start so get moving!

Phyllis Shallman – Surprising Expenses Parents Should Anticipate

You already know the sticker price of raising a family.

All parents must contend with the cost of childcare, education, housing, and food. But there are some unexpected expenses that can blindside you if you’re not prepared for them. Here are some hidden costs that every parent should anticipate in advance!

The newborn utility bill spike.

When your baby first arrives home from the hospital (yay!), expect your utility bills to seriously increase. Chances are, your newest family member will require a cozy temperature all day to maintain their mood and sleep schedule. Plus, you’ll probably run a few extra loads of laundry and dishes every week! Before your child comes home, budget in some extra cash specifically for utility bills.

Birthday parties for preschoolers.

Nobody loves birthday parties more than preschoolers. If you’re not careful, you may end up paying far more than you ever expected on decorations, party favors, and gifts.

Come up with a budget-friendly gift giving strategy for your family early and stick with it. That might be placing a cost limit on what you give, or developing creative and heartfelt ways to make gifts from scratch.

Date nights will temporarily increase in cost.

Until your kids are old enough to look after themselves, you’ll need to hire a babysitter before you go on a date night.

There are responsible ways to save money on this often unexpected expense. If possible, have a family member look after your kids while you enjoy your romantic dinner. Also, consider swapping babysitting duties with a friend—you look after their kids on their date nights, they look after your kids on your date nights!

Extracurricular activities.

Music lessons, sports teams, and driver’s ed are sometimes far more expensive than parents realize. In addition to the upfront costs, you’ll also need to buy instruments, cleats, jerseys, and more to empower your kids to enjoy their favorite hobbies.

Create an extracurricular activities fund and start building it now. Then, decide how much you can pay each month for lessons and coaching.

What’s a parenting expense that caught you by surprise? I’d love to hear what it was and how you overcame it!

Israel Scores Stunning Win to Advance in Under-20 World Cup

0

Jerusalem, 28 May, 2023 (TPS) — Israel made soccer history on Saturday night at the Under-20 World Cup in Argentina, rallying late while a man down to beat Japan 2-1.

The win was Israel’s first-ever at any FIFA World Cup, having tied two games and lost the other in its only other appearance in any such competition, the main World Cup event in 1970.

After losing its first Under-20 game 2-1 to Colombia and then drawing 1-1 with Senegal, Israel needed to beat Japan to move into the round of 16.

Israel’s chances dimmed significantly after conceding a first half stoppage-time goal to Isa Sakamoto, and then in the 68th minute going down to 10 men to Japan’s 11 when Ran Binyamin received his second yellow card for a foul and was sent off.

Nevertheless, Aharon Roy Nawi Nabi scored following a free kick in the 76th minute, setting the stage for another stoppage-time goal in the 92nd and what coach Ofir Haim called the greatest victory in Israeli soccer history.

“This was a heroic win, the greatest match in the history of Israeli soccer,” he said while forcing back tears. “This is for all of Israel, I dedicate this to you. I have no words, the players have a big heart and soul.”

The final Group C standings had Colombia in first place with seven points, Israel second with four, Japan third with three and Senegal last with two. The top two teams in each group advance to the knockout stage.

Israel now faces off against Uzbekistan on Tuesday with a place in the quarterfinals up for grabs.

Argentina had not initially been slated to host the event, but it was moved there after FIFA took it away from Indonesia following objections by the world’s most populous Muslim-majority country to Israel’s participation.

The Israeli team made waves last year after making it to the finals of the 2022 UEFA European Under-19 Championship in Slovakia, where it took England to extra time before giving up two goals to the Brits.

Argentina is home to the largest Jewish community in Latin America, with most residing in the capital Buenos Aires.

California entrepreneurs eye Israeli high-tech

Orange County businessmen plan investment in Start-Up Nation and the region.

There was the non-invasive sensor that identifies alcohol in a driver’s blood and can prevent the ignition of the vehicle if needed.

There were the dough-based products with minimal carbs.

There was the alternative to cement that could circumvent soil erosion problems.

And there was the famous Jerusalem stone.

These Israeli inventions—and others like them—caught the eye of a high-level delegation of 40 American businessmen in Israel this month seeking investment opportunities. The group was looking to bring some of Israel’s latest innovations—and more classic ones—back to the United States.

“I almost want to send my kids to Israel to see this most innovative technological hub which teaches people to create with their entrepreneurial spirit,” Wayne Lindholm, executive vice president of Hensel Phelps Construction Company, said in an interview during the group’s visit to Tel Aviv last week.

Lindholm’s firm built both Los Angeles International Airport and the Intel semiconductor fabrication plant in Kiryat Gat, Israel. He is both a board member and a former president of the Lincoln Club.

Sammy Sayago, a serial tech entrepreneur and founder and CEO of WhyW8t LLC, a data-driven technology, research, marketing and communications company, said, “You Israelis love your country. If you have peace, stability and transparency, businesses want to come.” He manages a database of 100 million unique records in the U.S. alone.

Lei Wang, the executive vice president of Gemdale USA, a national real estate investment firm, said, “I feel that Israel is really the safest and most democratic place both for the U.S. and for other countries around the world.”

MIRACLE: Missing Israeli Found Safe in Jordan…After 2 Years!

0

ISRAEL (VINnews) — A young Israeli man has miraculously been found alive in Jordan, after disappearing for two years.

Shalom Rotban, a Chabad man in his twenties from Kiryat Malachi, suffered post-traumatic-stress disorder (PTSD) after a rocket strike near his home in 2012 when he was a child.

Rotban went missing several times in the years following the strike, but then he disappeared without a trace in May 2021, leading his family to fear for his life.

Several weeks ago, Rotman was found wandering aimlessly near Amman. He was taken to a mental institution, where a nurse realized he was Israeli and contacted Israeli authorities to report that she located one of their citizens.

The Israel Dog Unit (IDU) received word that Rotman had been located and quickly informed his family, who traveled to Jordan to embrace their son for the first time in two years.

“The excitement, the joy, the boundless tears when the son fell upon his mother’s neck are indescribable. She felt like she had been reborn,” the IDU told ‘Behadrei Charedim’.

They added, “From here we learn that there is always hope. We say this in every search for missing persons, even when a long time has passed since the day of their disappearance. We thank the Creator of the World for this great miracle.”

Mike Ben-Yaakov, commander of the IDU, said, “Only in the State of Israel is a civilian dog unit able to reach the President of the State at 1:30 in the morning to help a poor missing person. I wish that [IDU] would receive such help to rescue and save more missing persons from those in charge of the field of missing persons in the State of Israel. I hope that this case will affect many other missing persons cases, and that [the unit] receives the tools and recognition to reach out to many other missing people who can be located and saved.”

He continued, “The main thing: Shalom was found after years of searching and despair, and he will be able to celebrate the holiday of Matan Torah in the [company] of his family. A miracle of the Holiday of Matan Torah.”

LONG RANGE: Iran Unveils Khaybar Missile Capable Of Reaching Israel

0

Iran on Thursday presented to the world a new ballistic missile with a range of 2,000 kilometers (around 1,240 miles) and capable of carrying a 1,500-kg. (approximately 3,300-pound) warhead, Tehran’s state-run IRNA news agency reported.

The fourth-generation Khorramshahr-class missile is Iran’s longest-range projectile to date and is capable of reaching Israel.

It is named Khaybar after the place in present-day Saudi Arabia where the Muslim Prophet Muhammed’s forces defeated Jewish tribes in 628 C.E. Muslims often chant, “Khaybar, Khaybar, oh Jews, the army of Mohammed will return” at anti-Israel rallies.

Thursday morning’s ceremony broadcast live on state television was attended by Iran’s Defense Minister Mohammad Reza Ashtiani and featured a replica of the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem.

Ashtiani said that the missile was unveiled to “provide comprehensive support to our friends and countries that are on the path of fighting against the domination system.”

Speaking at the ceremony, he said the missile was the result of years of work by Iranian scientists at the Defense Ministry’s Aerospace Industries Organization, adding that the missile was equipped with radar-evading technology that can circumvent enemy air defense systems.

“We are taking steps to equip the armed forces in various areas of missiles, drones, air defense, and so on, and the unveilings will definitely continue in the future,” Ashtiani said.

The regime in Tehran has repeatedly threatened Israel, including President Ebrahim Raisi earlier this month warning that the Jewish state would be destroyed if its military launched a direct strike against his country.

Meanwhile, U.S. and Israeli officials have made multiple statements in recent weeks regarding the possibility of a joint strike on Iran’s nuclear program, in an effort to increase deterrence. JNS

Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks zt”l – The Blessing of Love NASO • 5776 5783

At 176 verses, Naso is the longest of the parshiyot. Yet one of its most moving passages, and the one that has had the greatest impact over the course of history, is very short indeed and is known by almost every Jew, namely the priestly blessings:

The Lord said to Moses:

“Tell Aaron and his sons, ‘Thus shall you bless the Israelites. Say to them “May the Lord bless you and protect you; May the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; May the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.”’ Let them set My name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.”

Num. 6:23–27

This is among the oldest of all prayer texts. It was used by the priests in the Temple. It is said today by the Kohanim in the reader’s repetition of the Amidah, in Israel every day, in most of the Diaspora only on festivals. It is used by parents as they bless their children on Friday night. It is often said to the bride and groom under the chupah. It is the simplest and most beautiful of all blessings.

It also appears in the oldest of all biblical texts that have physically survived till today. In 1979 the archaeologist Gabriel Barkay was examining ancient burial caves at Ketef Hinnom, outside the walls of Jerusalem in the area now occupied by the Menachem Begin Heritage Center. A thirteen-year-old boy who was assisting Barkay discovered that beneath the floor of one of the caves was a hidden chamber. There the group discovered almost one thousand ancient artefacts including two tiny silver scrolls no more than an inch long.

They were so fragile that it took three years to work out a way of unrolling them without causing them to disintegrate. Eventually the scrolls turned out to be kemayot, amulets, containing, among other texts, the priestly blessings. Scientifically dated to the sixth century BCE, the age of Jeremiah and the last days of the First Temple, they are four centuries older than the most ancient of biblical texts known hitherto, the Dead Sea Scrolls. Today the amulets can be seen in the Israel Museum, testimony to the ancient connection of Jews to the land and the continuity of Jewish faith itself.

What gives the priestly blessings their power is their simplicity and beauty. They have a strong rhythmic structure. The lines contain three, five, and seven words respectively. In each, the second word is “the Lord”. In all three verses the first part refers to an activity on the part of God – “bless”, “make His face shine”, and “turn His face toward”. The second part describes the effect of the blessing on us, giving us protection, grace, and peace.

They also travel inward, as it were. The first verse, “May the Lord bless you and protect you” refers, as the commentators note, to material blessings: sustenance, physical health, and so on. The second, “May the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you” refers to moral blessing. Chen, grace, is what we show to other people and they to us. It is interpersonal. Here we are asking God to give some of His grace to us and others so that we can live together without the strife and envy that can so easily poison relationships.

The third is the most inward of all. There is a lovely story about a crowd of people who have gathered on a hill by the sea to watch a great ship pass by. A young child is waving vigorously. One of the men in the crowd asks him why. He says, “I am waving so the captain of the ship can see me and wave back.” “But,” said the man, “the ship is far away, and there is a crowd of us here. What makes you think that the captain can see you?” “Because,” said the boy, “the captain of the ship is my father. He will be looking for me among the crowd.”

That is roughly what we mean when we say, “May the Lord turn His face toward you”. There are over seven billion people now living on this earth. What makes any of us more than a face in the crowd, a wave in the ocean, a grain of sand on the seashore? The fact that we are God’s children. He is our parent. He turns His face toward us. He cares.

The God of Abraham is not a mere force of nature, or even all the forces of nature combined. A tsunami does not pause to ask who its victims will be. There is nothing personal about an earthquake or a tornado. The word Elokim means something like “the force of forces, cause of causes, the totality of all scientifically-discoverable laws.” It refers to those aspects of God that are impersonal. It also refers to God in His attribute of justice, since justice is essentially impersonal.

But the name we call Hashem – the name used in the priestly blessings, and in almost all the priestly texts – is God as He relates to us as individuals, each with our unique configuration of hopes and fears, gifts and possibilities. Hashem is the aspect of God that allows us to use the word “You”. He is the God who speaks to us and who listens when we speak to Him. How this happens, we do not know, but that it happens is central to Jewish faith.

That we call God ‘Hashem’ is the transcendental confirmation of our significance in the scheme of things. We matter as individuals because God cares for us as a parent for a child. That, incidentally, is one reason why the priestly blessings are all in the singular, to emphasise that God blesses us not only collectively but also individually. One life, said the Sages, is like a universe.[1]

Hence the meaning of the last of the priestly blessings. The knowledge that God turns His face toward us – that we are not just an indiscernible face in a crowd, but that God relates to us in our uniqueness and singularity – is the most profound and ultimate source of peace. Competition, strife, lawlessness, and violence come from the psychological need to prove that we matter. We do things to prove that I am more powerful, or richer, or more successful than you. I can make you fear. I can bend you to my will. I can turn you into my victim, my subject, my slave. All of these things testify not to faith, but to a profound failure of faith.

Faith means that I believe that God cares about me. I am here because He wanted me to be. The soul He gave me is pure. Even though I am like the child on the hill watching the ship pass by, I know that God is looking for me, waving to me as I wave to Him. That is the most profound inner source of peace. We do not need to prove ourselves in order to receive a blessing from God. All we need to know is that His face is turned toward us. When we are at peace with ourselves, we can begin to make peace with the world.

So the blessings become longer and deeper: from the external blessing of material goods to the interpersonal blessing of grace between ourselves and others, to the most inward of them all, the peace of mind that comes when we feel that God sees us, hears us, holds us in His everlasting arms.

One further detail of the priestly blessings is unique, namely the blessing that the Sages instituted to be said by the Kohanim over the mitzva:

“Blessed are You… who has made us holy with the holiness of Aaron and has commanded us to bless His people Israel with love.”

It is the last word, be’ahavah, that is unusual. It appears in no other blessing over the performance of a command. It seems to make no sense. Ideally, we should fulfill all the commands with love. But an absence of love does not invalidate any other command. In any case, the blessing over the performance of a command is a way of showing that we are acting intentionally. There was an argument between the Sages as to whether mitzvot in general require intention (kavanah) or not.[2] But whether they do or not, making a blessing beforehand shows that we do have the intention to fulfil the command. But intention is one thing, emotion is another. Surely what matters is that the Kohanimrecite the blessing and God will do the rest. What difference does it make whether they do so in love or not?

The commentators wrestle with this question. Some say that the fact that the Kohanim are facing the people when they bless means that they are like the cherubim in the Tabernacle, whose faces “were turned to one another” as a sign of love. Others change the word order. They say that the blessing really means, “who has made us holy with the holiness of Aaron and with love has commanded us to bless His people Israel.” “Love” here refers to God’s love for Israel, not that of the Kohanim.

However, it seems to me that the explanation is this: The Torah explicitly says that though the Kohanim say the words, it is God who sends the blessing. “Let them put My name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.” Normally when we fulfil a mitzva, we are doing something. But when the Kohanim bless the people, they are not doing anything in and of themselves. Instead they are acting as channels through which God’s blessing flows into the world and into our lives. Only love does this. Love means that we are focused not on ourselves but on another. Love is selflessness. And only selflessness allows us to be a channel through which flows a force greater than ourselves, the love that as Dante said, “moves the sun and the other stars,”[3] the love that brings new life into the world.

To bless, we must love, and to be blessed is to know that we are loved by the One vaster than the universe who nonetheless turns His face toward us as a parent to a beloved child. To know that is to find true spiritual peace.

Hamas recruited Israeli to bomb Hadera bus

1

Muhammad Nadir Mahajna from Umm al-Fahm planned to attack the No. 921 line.

Hamas recruited an Arab citizen of Israel to carry out a bombing in the coastal plain city of Hadera, the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) said on Wednesday.

The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Umm al-Fahm resident Muhammad Nadir Mahajna, was arrested a few weeks ago in a joint operation of the Shin Bet and the Israel Police’s Coastal District and Gideonim undercover unit forces.

According to the Shin Bet, Mahanja was recruited a few months ago by the “military” wing of the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip. It directed him to carry out an attack with an explosive device on the No. 921 bus line in Hadera.

He was under “financial and mental pressures” that drew him closer to the ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood, to which Hamas is affiliated, and he decided to carry out a terrorist attack, the agency said.

Mahanja was arrested in possession of media used to communicate with Hamas in the Gaza Strip, the Shin Bet said. He collected information about possible locations to carry out an attack, including taking pictures of trash bins in the parking lot of the municipal soccer stadium in Afula in the Jezreel Valley.

On May 9, the Haifa District Attorney’s Office filed an indictment against Mahanja.

“The investigation of the affair once again reveals the efforts of Hamas to promote terrorist activity in Israel while trying to publicly distance its involvement and at the same time pretending that it wants to promote the moves towards a settlement in the Gaza Strip. This, while cynically exploiting the population of Israeli citizens and recruiting them for terrorist activity,” the Shin Bet said.

“Responsibility for such activities rests with the leadership of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, headed by Yahya Sinwar. The Shin Bet together with the Israel Police will continue to work to thwart terrorist activity on the part of the terrorist organizations and use all the means at their disposal to protect the security of the State of Israel and its citizens and to bring to justice all the parties involved.”

In January, two Israeli citizens from Mu’awiya, near Umm al-Fahm, were arrested after being recruited by Hamas to carry out bombings inside Israel.

On May 18, Israeli security personnel arrested a Hamas terrorist who was planning to carry out a shooting attack in Jerusalem. In April, it was revealed that police thwarted a Hamas Temple Mount shooting plot.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Launches 2024 Presidential Campaign

0

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis entered the 2024 presidential race on Wednesday, stepping into a crowded Republican primary contest that will test both his national appeal as a cultural conservative stalwart and the GOP’s willingness to move on from former President Donald Trump.

The 44-year-old Republican revealed his decision in a Federal Election Commission filing before an online conversation with Twitter CEO Elon Musk.

It marks a new chapter in his extraordinary rise from little-known congressman to two-term governor to a leading figure in the nation’s bitter fights over race, gender, abortion, and other divisive issues. DeSantis is considered to be Trump’s strongest Republican rival even as the governor faces questions about his readiness for the national stage.

DeSantis’ audio-only announcement was to be streamed on Twitter Spaces beginning at 6 p.m. EDT. He was following up with prime-time appearances on conservative programs, including Fox News and Mark Levin’s radio show.

DeSantis’ entry into the Republican field has been rumored for months and he is considered one of the party’s strongest candidates in the quest to retake the White House from Democratic President Joe Biden. The 80-year-old incumbent, Republicans say, has pushed the nation too far left while failing to address inflation, immigration and crime.

The Republican nominee will face Biden on the general election ballot in November 2024.

DeSantis begins his campaign in a top-tier of two alongside Trump based on early public polling, fundraising and campaign infrastructure.

The two GOP powerhouses have much in common.

DeSantis, who likely would not have become the Florida governor without Trump’s endorsement, has adopted the former president’s fiery personality, his populist policies and even some of his rhetoric and mannerisms.

Yet DeSantis has one thing Trump does not: a credible claim that he may be more electable in a general election than Trump, who faces multiple legal threats and presided over Republican losses in three consecutive national elections.

DeSantis, just six months ago, won his reelection in Florida by a stunning 19 percentage points — even as Republicans in many other states struggled. He also scored several major policy victories during the Republican-controlled Legislature’s spring session.

Aware of DeSantis’ draw, Trump has been almost singularly focused on undermining DeSantis’ political appeal for months. Trump and his team believe that DeSantis may be Trump’s only legitimate threat for the nomination.

Trump’s kitchen-sink attacks and nicknames won’t be DeSantis’ only hurdle.

DeSantis may be a political heavyweight in Florida and a regular on Fox News, but allies acknowledge that most primary voters in other states don’t know him well.

A Florida native with family roots in the Midwest, DeSantis studied at Yale University, where he played baseball. He would go on to Harvard Law School and become a Navy Judge Advocate General officer, a position that took him to Iraq and the Guantanamo Bay detention camp.

He ran for Congress in 2012 and won an Orlando-area district, becoming a founding member of the far-right Freedom Caucus on Capitol Hill.

Despite his lengthy resume, friends and foes alike note that DeSantis struggles to display the campaign-trail charisma and quick-on-your-feet thinking that often defines successful candidates at the national level. He has gone to great lengths to avoid unscripted public appearances and media scrutiny while governor, which is difficult, if not impossible, as a presidential contender.

Would-be supporters also worry that DeSantis has refused to invest in relationships with party leaders or fellow elected officials, raising questions about his ability to build the coalition he will ultimately need to beat Trump. By contrast, the more personable Trump has already scooped up an army of endorsements in key states, including Florida.

DeSantis delayed his announcement until Florida’s legislative session was over. But for much of the year, he has been courting primary voters in key states and using an allied super political action committee to build out a large political organization that is essentially a campaign in waiting and already claims at least $30 million in the bank.

He joins a field that already includes: Trump; former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley; South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott; former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson; and biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. Former Vice President Mike Pence is also considered a likely presidential candidate but has not yet announced a bid.

More than any of his opponents, except perhaps Trump, DeSantis is positioned to hit the ground running thanks to the super PAC’s months-long efforts to install campaign infrastructure across Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina, which will host the first four contests on the GOP’s primary calendar early next year.

The super PAC also established more than 30 Students for DeSantis chapters across at least 18 states.

Roger Waters Dresses As SS Officer At Concert

0

BERLIN (JNS) – During a Berlin concert on Wednesday, former Pink Floyd member Roger Waters likened Anne Frank to Shireen Abu Aqleh, the Al Jazeera journalist who died during a shootout between IDF soldiers and Palestinian terrorists.

Waters also dressed up as an SS soldier and pretended to fire a rifle.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry tweeted on Thursday, “Good morning to every one but Roger Waters who spent the evening in Berlin (Yes Berlin) desecrating the memory of Anne Frank and the 6 million Jews murdered in the Holocaust.”

In February, the German city of Frankfurt announced the cancellation of a May 28 concert by Waters, citing his reputation as “one of the world’s best-known antisemites.”

A statement by the municipal government announcing the decision cited his support for the BDS movement, antisemitic imagery at his performances and past interviews with media affiliated with the Hamas terrorist group.

Waters has a long history of antisemitic behavior, claiming in October 2022 that the Jewish state was attempting to manufacture a new intifada with the goal of killing as many Palestinians as possible.

“The Israelis seem now to have a policy of murdering so many of them, that they are absolutely trying to create another intifada, so they can make it an armed conflict where they’re a thousand times, 10,000 times more powerful than the Palestinian people … so they can just kill them all,” Waters said on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast.

Waters also called Hamas the “democratically elected government of Gaza,” acknowledging the existence of its “armed wing” yet justifying the Palestinians’ “absolute legal and moral right to resist the occupation” and then minimizing the impact of their rocket attacks against Israel. The rockets “almost never do any damage because they’re very ineffectual,” he said.

Earlier this month, Pink Floyd member David Gilmour and his wife, Polly Samson, publicly accused Waters of antisemitism, setting off a widely publicized feud.
