Caitlyn Jenner Comes Out In Support Of ‘Path To Citizenship’ For California’s Illegal Aliens

0

California gubernatorial candidate Caitlyn Jenner supports providing a pathway to citizenship for the state’s roughly two million illegal aliens.

The former Olympic athlete turned transgender activist announced the policy position during an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash, which is set to air Monday night.

BASH: California’s labor force includes 1.75 million undocumented immigrants. Should they have a path to citizenship?

JENNER: I would hope so. I am for legal immigration, okay. What’s been happening on the border was honestly one of the reasons I decided to run for governor. I was watching people dying come across the river, kids in cages – whatever you want to call them.

BASH: They should have a chance at citizenship?

JENNER: Absolutely. Yeah, they should.

To me, personally, there’s a lot of people, but personally, I have met some of the most wonderful people who are immigrants, who have come to this country and they are just model citizens. They are just great people and I would fight for them to be, you know, U.S. citizens. I think it would be the greatest day of their life.

BASH: What about deportation?

JENNER: The bad ones have to leave.

BASH: What do you consider a bad one?

JENNER: Criminal records, um, MS-13, the list goes on. There’s a lot of bad people trying to cross our border illegally. I don’t want those people in our country.

Jenner is hoping to oust Governor Gavin Newsom (D) in a recall election likely scheduled later this year. The Republican candidate slammed Newsom’s leadership, particularly during the COVID pandemic, as The Daily Wire reported:

“This isn’t the California we know. This is Gavin Newsom’s California, where he orders us to stay home but goes out to dinner with his lobbyist friends,” said Jenner. She was referencing Newsom getting caught dining with friends indoors without masks at The French Laundry, an opulent Napa Valley restaurant that charges $1,200 per person for a white truffle and caviar dinner.

Jenner shocked many over comments about transgender athletes participating in girls’ sports.

“This is a question of fairness,” Jenner said, according to a report from The Daily Wire sourcing TMZ. “That’s why I oppose biological boys who are trans competing in girls’ sports in school.”

“It just isn’t fair and we have to protect girls’ sports in our schools,” the gubernatorial candidate said.

According to The Daily Wire, the celebrity’s decision to run as a Republican upset LGBT activists:

“Caitlyn Jenner is a deeply unqualified hack who doesn’t care about anyone but herself,” trans activist Charlotte Clymer tweeted. “Her views are terrible. She is a horrible candidate.”

“Caitlyn Jenner has no real support. I don’t care about her candidacy. I do care about the ways in which her asinine views will be weaponized against trans people and the ways in which transphobia will go unchecked. This is purely a vanity campaign, and it’s incredibly selfish,” Clymer said.

“Caitlyn Jenner’s only real political position is doing whatever it takes to boost Caitlyn Jenner, and she doesn’t care who gets hurt along the way. I wish this didn’t need to be said, but undoubtedly it does: whatever you may think of Caitlyn Jenner–and I do NOT think kindly of her–please remember there are numerous valid critiques of her without turning to transphobia. Please think before you post. Please.”

MSNBC’s Joy Reid also took issue with the gubernatorial candidate, as The Daily Wire noted:

“Caitlyn Jenner is a strange figure,” MSNBC host Joy Reid said on her Tuesday show, “because she was for Donald Trump and he was, you know, directly an anti-trans president. And now she is running for governor and has now decided she, too, is against trans girls playing sports.”

California’s recall is scheduled for later this year, although a definitive date has yet to be selected.

Germany Commemorates Icon Of Resistance To Nazism

0

Germany on Sunday commemorated the 100th birthday of Sophie Scholl, a young woman who became an icon for her role in the anti-fascist ‘White Rose’ resistance group.

Scholl and other group members were arrested in 1943 after scattering leaflets critical of Adolf Hitler’s regime and the war from a balcony at the University of Munich. She and her brother Hans were executed four days later after refusing to apologize.

The group’s story, including the Scholl siblings’ gradual awareness and then rejection of the horrors of National Socialist ideology and militarism, has become a staple of history lessons in German schools. It also has been regularly dramatized in films, plays and most recently an Instagram account.

On Sunday, dozens of young people in Munich took part in a theatrical live performance about Scholl’s life — held in the open air due to pandemic restrictions.

Recent attempts by anti-lockdown protesters to portray Sophie Scholl as an example of the need to resist government rules on mask-wearing and social distancing have been denounced by organizations representing Holocaust survivors, including the International Auschwitz Committee.

Josef Schuster, the head of the German Central Council of Jews, criticized the appropriation comparisons between anti-lockdown protesters and the victims of Nazi persecution as “repulsive and intolerable.”

The governor of Bavaria, Markus Soeder, paid homage to Scholl on Friday, noting that at 21 she had been willing to “sacrifice this life for freedom, for her stance, for her conscience.”

Israelis mark Jerusalem Day, celebrating 54 years of a united city

0

Heavy security is in place for celebrations in honor of the anniversary
of the city’s unification in the 1967 Six Day War.

With most of the coronavirus health crisis behind them and able to gather outside again, Israelis flocked Sunday to the Western Wall of the Old City to mark the start of Jerusalem Day, celebrating the reunification of the city 54 years ago.

There was a heavy police presence in the city following several days of unrest, and leaders of the Palestinian terror group Hamas called for more violence, but security forces were keeping a close watch as celebrations began at sundown with dancing at the Western Wall of the ancient Jewish Temple.

Split in half during the 1948 War of Independence when Jordan illegally occupied its eastern part, Jerusalem was reunited in 1967 when Israeli forces pushed the Jordanian army out of the city.

The reunification opened up Jerusalem’s famous Old City and its holy sites, with Jews once again able to pray at the Western Wall, revered as the holiest site in Judaism next to the Temple Mount. Under Jordanian rule, the Western Wall was off-limits for Israelis, and Jews in general.

Under Israeli rule, access to the holy sites for all religions has been steadfastly preserved, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promising earlier in the day not to let Arab rioters deny access to the city.

“We will not allow any extremist element to undermine the quiet in Jerusalem. We will uphold law and order – vigorously and responsibly. We will continue to guard freedom of worship for all faiths but we will not allow violent disturbances,” Netanyahu said.

“For 54 years, Jerusalem has been united under the rule of the democratic State of Israel. When one looks back over thousands of years of Jewish rule and the foreign rule, and today again under the state of the Jews, only under the sovereignty of Israel has full and consistent freedom of worship been ensured for all faiths, and this we will continue,” Netanyahu said.

Jerusalem Day celebrations begin with a traditional prayer at the Western Wall plaza followed by singing and dancing. Other events include concerts, special displays at Jerusalem’s museums and receptions.

The annual traditional flag parade is scheduled to begin Monday afternoon with tens of thousands marching through the center of Jerusalem to the Old City and the Western Wall.

Tourism Ministry officials are hoping that Israel’s emergence from the pandemic will help boost the city’s economy, which normally accounts for almost 22% of the total employment in the city of almost one million residents.

Jerusalem is the most popular destination for tourists in Israel and in a record year attracted about 3.6 million tourists in 2019 before the coronavirus pandemic brought worldwide tourism to a standstill.

“Jerusalem, the capital of Israel, is a city with history, depth, variety and spectacular beauty, and it is also the favorite destination for tourists from abroad,” said Tourism Minister Orit Farkash-Hacohen. “I sincerely hope that in the near future we will be able to see tourists roaming the Old City.”

“In years past, Jerusalem was a magnet for millions of Christians from around the world,” the minister noted. “I have no doubt that, in the coming years, it will also attract Arab and Muslim tourists from the Emirates, Morocco, Bahrain and other countries.”

Israel has one of the world’s best success stories with coronavirus vaccinations. Almost 5.5 million of Israel’s 9.3 million citizens have received the coronavirus vaccine and the infection rate has dropped to near zero, with the Health Ministry on Sunday reporting only 17 new infections in the past day.

Hospitals across the country have all closed their coronavirus wards and only 150 Israelis remain hospitalized with the virus.

The economy has gradually opened up and the country is hoping that as other nations catch up to Israel’s vaccination levels, the tourists will return to boost Jerusalem Day next year.

Gaza terrorists fire rockets at Ashkelon

Iron Dome anti-missile defense system activated after terrorists in Gaza Strip fire missiles at southern Israel.

Terrorists operating out of the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip launched multiple missiles at southern Israel Sunday evening.

The rockets were fired towards the coastal city of Ashkelon, as well as towns in the western Negev, in the Gaza frontier.

Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense network was activated during the attacks.

Witnesses in Ashkelon reported hearing explosions. Some witnesses also said that several rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome system.

There have been no reports of injuries or damage.

An IDF spokesperson later said that two rockets had been detected being launched from the Gaza Strip. One of the rockets was destroyed by the Iron Dome system, the spokesperson said.

“Following the previous report regarding the sirens which sounded in the city of Ashkelon and in the area surrounding the Gaza Strip, two rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip, one of which was intercepted by the Iron Dome Aerial Defense System.”

California’s population boom is over.

The state, whose population growth began with the Gold Rush of the 1840s and whose sun-splashed image inspired a mythic reputation of glamour around the world, reported a loss of 182,000 people in 2020.

It was the first-ever year-to-year decline for the nation’s most populous state, according to state officials reported in local media.

The city of Los Angeles alone lost 52,000 people in 2020. The population bust will cost California one of its national-most 53 congressional seats.

Dr. Mindy Boxer – Acupuncture for Healthy Weight Loss

In the United States, an estimated 300,000 people a year die from obesity.

In several studies over the last five years, researchers have shown patients who receive regular Acupuncture treatments see faster weight loss results than those who do not. In each case, the Acupuncture treatments were combined with dietary and lifestyle changes also aimed at weight loss, but the patients who got Acupuncture saw better results than those who focused on dietary and lifestyle changes alone.

In Traditional Chinese medicine, obesity is linked to energy or qi stagnation, especially around the stomach and spleen. TCM teaches that the energy imbalance caused by Stomach and Spleen Qi stagnation affects digestion, the function of the Pancreas, and the Insulin-Glucagon pathway. Each of these mechanisms is an important part of our body’s ability to take in nutrients, cycle them through our body, and get rid of unneeded waste.

There are many Acupoints and combinations of Acupoints that have proven successful for people who are trying to lose weight. It depends on the particular qi stagnation they are exhibiting and other body type characteristics.

Clinical research has shown Acupuncture treatments have the ability to restore bodily balance, improve physical well-being and promote healthy weight loss. In one study in Taiwan, researchers conducted a trial of 100 patients. Each patient received three months of Acupuncture treatments, after which their body mass index (BMI) was an average of three points lower than before the treatments.

The researchers highlighted they saw the most success when they selected personalized Acupuncture points based on each patient’s individual needs.

It can be frustrating and challenging to complete a weight loss regime, and there are so many kinds, each telling you theirs will be different and bring you success.

In TCM, any dietary or lifestyle change is recommended based on underlying causes, not surface symptoms, and with a well-rounded view of your health in mind. I will never analyze your health solely based on the reading of a bathroom scale. However, if you are looking for support on your weight loss journey, Acupuncture, in combination with my expertise in Functional Nutrition,  may be a great thing to add to your routine.

Canada joins US, Australia in steering clear of events related to 20 years of Durban

0

Global Affairs Canada spokesperson Grantly Franklin said “Canada is concerned that the Durban process has and continues to be used to push for anti-Israel sentiment and as a forum for anti-Semitism.”

The Canadian government said on Thursday that it will not participate in upcoming events marking the 20th anniversary of a U.N.-sponsored anti-racism conference that singled out Israel for criticism.

The announcement was made on the same day that Australia said it would not attend and three days after the United States said it won’t participate in Durban IV, which is set for Sept. 22 in New York.

“Canada remains committed, at home and abroad, including at the U.N., to advancing human rights, inclusion and combating anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and systemic racism in all its forms,” said Global Affairs Canada spokesperson Grantly Franklin. “Canada opposes initiatives at the United Nations and in other multilateral forums that unfairly single out and target Israel for criticism.”

He added that “Canada is concerned that the Durban process has and continues to be used to push for anti-Israel sentiment and as a forum for anti-Semitism.”

Israeli security services uncover finance network linking European NGOs to Palestinian terror group

0

The money was being used to pay families of slain terrorists, recruit new operatives and spread its messaging throughout Judea and Samaria, Gaza and eastern Jerusalem.

Israel’s Shin Bet announced that it has uncovered a financing network for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) where the terror group stole millions of euros from European aid organizations and governments to fund terrorist activities.

“PFLP institutions deceived aid organizations in Europe through a number of methods—reporting on fictitious projects, transferring false documents, forging and inflating invoices, diverting tenders, forging documents and bank signatures, reporting inflated salaries and more,” the Shin Bet said in a statement.

The money, operating under the guide of humanitarian assistance under a “Health Committee,” was used to pay families of slain terrorists, recruit new operatives and spread its messaging throughout the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and eastern Jerusalem, according to the Shin Bet.

Professor Gerald Steinberg, president of NGO Monitor, said his group has been tracking the close links between several European-funded NGOs and the PFLP.

Steinberg said,

“For 20 years, European officials have been providing HUNDREDS OF millions of euros to the Palestinian network of terror-linked groups under the facades of human rights and civil society. Employing heavy secrecy, the Europeans continued to turn a blind eye to the clear terror links, claiming ‘there was no ‘evidence’ or ‘we only fund projects, not NGOs,’ ”

According to NGO Monitor, between 2014 and 2021, the governments of Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Ireland Germany, France, Norway, Switzerland and the European Union provided more than €200 million (more than $240 million) to the PFLP NGO network, including to the Health Work Committees.

The PFLP is designated as a terror group by the United States, European Union, Canada, Israel and others.

As a result of the investigation, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said it has summoned the ambassadors of several European countries to present the findings, including evidence that European governmental funds went to the PFLP terrorist organization.

The Israeli officials “demanded that funding transfers be frozen immediately to those institutions which, acting under the guise of humanitarian organizations, recruit funds for the terrorist organization. The MFA emphasized the need for close supervision, which will prevent the continuation of funding for this organization.”

They also insisted that “European countries establish a dialogue, intended to improve control measures and supervision of the funds transferred to Palestinian non-governmental organizations, in order to ensure that these funds do not end up in the hands of terrorists.”

Following Iran threats, Israeli intelligence chief visits Bahrain to discuss security

0

The trip came amid heightened tensions in the region over Iran and negotiations in Vienna to revive the nuclear deal.

Yossi Cohen, the head of Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency, visited Bahrain for talks with officials on Thursday, the Bahrain state-run news agency reported.

The trip came amid heightened tensions in the region over Iran and followed Israel’s recent deal to normalize relations with the island kingdom.

The brief statement carried by the news agency said only that Yossi Cohen met with Bahrain’s heads of national intelligence and strategic security to discuss “the most prominent security topics, regional developments and issues of common interest.” It did not elaborate.

The two countries opened diplomatic ties last fall in a U.S.-brokered deal under the Trump administration and following the United Arab Emirates’ decision to normalize relations.

The pacts, rejected by the Palestinians as a betrayal of their cause for statehood, signaled an increasingly explicit alliance between Gulf Arab states and Israel against mutual archenemy Iran.

Indirect talks between the U.S. and Iran over a return to Tehran’s 2015 nuclear deal with world powers, which former President Donald Trump abandoned, are now gaining traction in Vienna.

Cohen joined an Israeli delegation to Washington recently in a last-ditch effort to convince the Americans not to return to the nuclear deal, but the Biden administration seems intent on renewing the agreement.

Israel and some Gulf Arab sheikhdoms previously have voiced concern over a generous American rapprochement with Iran that doesn’t address the Islamic Republic’s ballistic missile program and support for terrorist regional proxies, in addition to its nuclear program.
