Moscow confirmed the rocket check as it continues to show off its military prowess – despite announcing a partial troop pullback from areas bordering Ukraine.
A chilling video showed the launch of the unnamed new weapon at Sary Shagan test site in Kazakhstan.
Major General Sergei Grabchuk told journalists that the anti-ballistic missile accurately hit its target.
The system is designed to protect against attacks from aerospace weapons, reported TV Zvezda, the Russian Defence Ministry’s channel.
