Written by Jonathan Benedek/TPS on March 14, 2016

Three terrorists were killed this morning, March 14, near the Jewish community of Kiryat Arba located on the outskirts of the Judean city of Hebron.

Two of the terrorists carried out a shooting attack at approximately 6:45 AM. The terrorists exited a gas station in their vehicle,  were leaving in their car from a nearby gas station and opened fire at a hitchhiking stop in the direction of the soldiers on duty there. The soldiers were wounded, but managed to return fire and injure the terrorists.

Meanwhile, a security guard at Kiryat Arba who heard the shooting ran to the hitchhiking stop. One of the terrorists who was already wounded and lying on the ground attempted to fire in the direction of the security guard upon his arrival at the scene. The security guard shot back and killed the terrorist. The other terrorist also attempted to fire his weapon, but was also killed by the soldiers.

Another terrorist traveling northbound in a vehicle on Route 60 (a north-south highway in Judea and Samaria) ran over a soldier who was guarding the scene of the attack twenty minutes later. The terrorist was killed.

Two of the three terrorists, 30-year-old Farid Abu Odeh and 22-year-old Amir Fiuad Jenidi, were residents of Hebron. The third terrorist was Yusaf Mustafa, an 18-year-old resident of the nearby Palestinian town of Bani Nai’im, east of Hebron.

Security forces are currently conducting a comprehensive investigation at the scene of the attacks and are closely monitoring passing vehicles.
